ABSTRACT The various ways to respond to the danger of disaster is an effort of every person, community, society and government. Likewise with the district community Malaka that periodically hit by floods and droughts caused by climate change. Lack of food makes people have to adjust for the sake of survival. Roles, social relationships, responsibilities and division of labor between men and women also can change when trying to meet the needs of such food as a result of climate change. The analysis technique used in processing the data and analyze the impacts of climate change in this study is the technique Harvard Gender Analysis by qualitative approach towards the three patterns of food production (production, distribution and consumption) that occurs in the three affected areas in the district of Malaka. Matriarchal culture that embraced by the people at Malaka and geographical environment often affected influential in the division of labor between men and women. It is women who most activities, as well as be able to access and control over matters relating to the practical needs of gender. But it also makes the women are in a vulnerable position because of the burden of assuming to regulate the availability of food in the family that still must be met dikala disaster occurs. Men also feel the injustice of gender because only men involved in the food production process. Access and control was limited to the production pattern just put men more dominated by women.
