Regime On Water Security In Greater Mekong

Mekong River as a primary water source has played a vital role to ensure the livelihood of people living in its basin. However, the region is now under the threat of water insecurity due to the increase of human activity alongside the river. Mekong River Commission (MRC) as the only regime concerning on water security in the region is currently under pressure to overcome the multiple layers of water-related problem that currently occur in the region. In addition, the burden of MRC in addressing the issue becomes heavier because of the transboundary nature of this issue. Thus, this paper will analyse the work of MRC in managing water development in Greater Mekong and its limitations in doing so.
