THE TRANSFORMATION OF MYANMAR’S DEMOCRACY IN 2005-2014 ABSTRACT The aim of thesis is to answer and analyze background of democracy in Myanmar. Furthermore, the thesis exploreson how democracy transformedin Myanmar and what was ASEAN’s role in that process within 2005 to 2014. Moreover, in that period, there are two different scenes; in 2005, when Myanmar failed becoming the chair of the ASEAN 2006 in 2014 is when Myanmar served as chief ASEAN. The research it found that there are ASEAN role in expedite the transition and consolidation in Myanmar.
