Matoa a traditional elite in South- Sulawesi Sigeri that until now the existence of its power still exist to this day despite the power of modern isntitusi and the way people view and understand that notion as threatening ideology of Pancasila so that in the new order he does not get into the docked space as a state institution where traditional elite in general it has reduced the indirect teresebut kekuasanya as elite. This study aimed to find out Matoa exchange strategy with a modern elite to re-gain access to the room at the same time in the state institutions. This qualitative study aimed to collect data using motode observation, interviews and documentation. Data were analyzed through three stages of data reduction, organizing data and interpret existing data. To answer the question in this study the authors used the concept of Political Charles F Andrain resources in view of potential resources owned by matoa and used as a strategy exchange with modern elite in strengthening the influence and maintain its existence in indigenous communities. Owned resource potential is very large making it easy for matoa to be used as a strategy in the exchange of resources by building interaction with the modern elite at once to get the position and recognition. xiv In addition to maintaining his power in this matoa society did sealing the party elite government officials, cultural observers, NGOs by utilizing available resources to get the position and recognition of the community as an influential elite in the traditional context. The study found that the existence of the influence and power Matoa pengguanaan strategy is largely determined by the available resources and the ability to read opportunities in the resource exchange. Resources later exchanged with indigenous peoples and reproduced in a political context. This strategy has implications for the existence of its influence and power to this day
