Inisiasi Keluar dari Krisis Pasca Erupsi Merapi Tahun 2010 Melalui Pemanfaatan Wisata Bencana

ABSTRACT Community-based tourism is a tourism that grow from local knowledge, for example Desa Wisata. Community-based tourism was also developed in the post-disaster situation, with take the advantage of the attractions of disaster into an opportunity like tourism of Merapi Eruption in Umbulharjo. Tourism of Merapi Eruption was an interesting phenomenon because as a means to get out of the crisis post-eruption. Due to appear in a situation of crisis, to manage tourism of Merapi Eruption was not easy. So there are allegations that there are several factors that influence it. This study intends to identify the effort out of the crisis through utilization of disaster attractions in Umbulharjo. The method used was ethnography. The techniques used to collect the data were in-depth interviews, participant observation, and secondary data from the Community Tourism (Tim Volcano Tour and Paguyuban Kinahrejo) and Umbulharjo Village Office. The field findings show that the utilization of the attractions post-eruption be tourism of Merapi Eruption in Umbulharjo was a way to get out of the crisis. The effort was initiated by local leaders of Umbulharjo who not only have knowledge but also boost entrepreneurship to alleviate the disaster victims from the crisis post-eruption. Initiation that was done by forming social entrepreneurial organizations such as Tim Volcano Tour and Paguyuban Kinahrejo were then able to pull the collective participation of the local communities who are victims of Merapi eruption. Volcano Tour team focused management of tickets and parking, while the Paguyuban Kinahrejo the hamlets institutions focused in commercial businesses such as shops, motorcycle taxi, trail, and restaurants. Managing of tourism and business has become a medium for local community to obtain economic benefits. Process out of the crisis was also supported by the presence of social capital such as collectivity/bond and mutual assistance (gotong-royong) which affected by the value of communality, networking which is based on trust and openness, as well as the external network that is able to provide space access to material assistance and other support. Social enterprise coordinated through social entrepreneurship both Tim Volcano Tour and Paguyuban Kinahrejo can provide social outcomes that are create collectivity and social cohesion, as well as economic benefits for local community. So that local community can get out of the crisis. Keywords: eruption tourism, out of the crisis, social entrepreneurship, social capital.
