2015 | Tesis | S2 Magister Administrasi PublikAbstract Employees constitute the most important element in an organization. Employees determine whether or not change is accepted or rejected. Change in organization has implication on change in the working environment in the organization. Organization change oftentimes faces stiff resistance from employees who are reluctant to accept change as doing so compels them to leave their comfort zones. The objective of this research is to determine the influence of public service motivation, employees’ perceived organizational support, and empowering leadership on employees’ commitment to change. The population for this research was civil servants serving in general functional roles in the Yogyakarta special administrative region. Meanwhile, cluster random sampling was used in determining the sample of agencies/government offices, while purposive sampling was used in selecting respondents. The variables used included public service motivation, employees’ perceived organizational support, and empowering leadership, and employees’ commitment to change. The threshold for reliability and validity items was set at alpha cronbach ≥ 0.6 and alpha cronbach > .30, respectively. Multiple regression analysis was used in the analysis of data obtained from a survey of 280 respondents. The multiple regression results produced an adjusted R of 0.547 and level of significant of 0.000 (p < 0.05). Multiple regression results showed that public service motivation, employee perceived organizational support, and empowering leadership showed significance influence on the commitment to change of civil servants in Yogyakarta special administrative region.
