ABSTRACT Public media as one of the four pillars in terms of the broadcasting system, has an important position in the community. Indonesian broadcasting conditions dominated private broadcasters often bring liberal become a concern in the turnover information that is present in the public space. Based on the background of his birth, public media task to balance the information to the public, in terms of the information that was broadcast must consider the public interest, including the election period. The position of the RRI station of Yogyakarta as one of the existing public radio station area, carrying the RRI station of Yogyakarta must to really pay attention to the public in the area of Yogyakarta with a background that is so dynamic society. In connection with the election constellation 2014, RRI station Yogyakarta carry out duties as election radio. This brings RRI station of Yogyakarta in a duty to call upon the public about the importance of public involvement and rationality of voting. This study tries to explain the dynamics of election coverage by RRI station of Yogyakarta. The dynamics of the 2014 elections coverage by RRI station of Yogyakarta in this research study is described in two dimensions. The first dimension is the editorial, in which explain the dynamics that occur in the newsroom RRI Yogyakarta station in the 2014 election. This dimension will describe in three parts, namely: the structure of editorship, reporting guidelines, and reporting principles.
