Generally in conflicts involving so many violence as in Northern Ireland, women have to confront with choices in responding and getting involved in the conflict. One of the hardest decisions to make by women in conflicts that their family and their own safety are more jeopardized by the absence of men which traditionally constructed by so many cultures hold the responsibiliy to protect their families, either because died in the conflict, became a political prisoner, or on their duty as combatants. Women then have to face the fact that they have to replace men in the family as well as in society. I so many cases, including in Northern Ireland, the conflict leave the options for women to directly engage in violent conflict as a belligerent or to get involve in community development by building networks in order to improve the conditions of the communities where they live. This study aims to look at how the role of women’s activim in soling the onflict n Northern Ireland using Conflict Transformation approach. The result shows that women in any forms of their actvism in responding the conflict, have limited role in transforming it. The role of women is still highly depend on the presence of state that opens the door for greater involvement of women in the negotiatons processes that determine the fate and future of Northern Ireland.
