ABSTRACT This research aims at explaining the influence of CCSBT towards the management of southern bluefin tuna in Indonesia. CCSBT (the Commission for the Conservation of Southern Bluefin Tuna) is formed as an effort to manage and conserve the southern Bluefin tuna resource. Conceptual framework of international regime was used to explain the phenomena in CCSBT. CCSBT (Commission for the Conservation of Southern Bluefin Tuna) is a commission of conservation that was basically formed based on agreement of the countries which had interest in southern Bluefin tuna resource. The agreement was made by establishing awareness in managing, conserve, and optimizing the southern Bluefin tuna resource appropriately. The data were gained by conducting in-depth interviews and literature studies which were analyzed qualitatively. The analysis was done by considering three components i.e. output, outcome and impact. The results showed that CCSBT affects the management of southern Bluefin tuna in Indonesia directly and indirectly. It influenced our country’s law amendment by transforming some provisions and agreement determined by CCSBT, adopting and implementing the resolutions approved in management system of southern Bluefin tuna in Indonesia. It also affected the changes related to the availability of southern Bluefin tuna resource which is considered to increase. Keyword: CCSBT, southern bluefin tuna, Indonesia
