ABSTRACT The main purpose of this study is to discuss about the influence of democratization process to the fulfillment of human security in Iraq. As we know, before USA invade Iraq in 2003, Iraq was ruled under the tyranny of Saddam Hussein. Although he was elected as president by general election, the system Iraq had was hardly democratic. In order to analyze how democratization affects the fullfilment of human security, the study used the representative democratic practice and institutionalization before liberalization. These two variables helped us to understand how exactly the democratic system as a logical consequence of democratization became the connecting bridge to the wealth of Iraqi people. The fulfillment of human security is measured by the Human Development Index (HDI) and Human Security Index (HSI). These two indexes complement each other since human security itself is such a complex concept to determine how well the basic needs for people to survive are provided. Thus, democratization and democratic process in Iraq after US invasion in 2003 until now.
