ABSTRACT The aim of this research is to identify adaptive capacity of sellers to keep the continuity of Pasar Seni. The struggle of the sellers cannot be separated by the stakeholders. So that, this research also shows the stakeholder contribution. The research was conducted at Pasar Seni Sukawati (Gianyar) and Pasar Seni Gabusan (Bantul), the method used in this research is descriptive qualitative by comparing adaptive capacity the Pasar Seni’s sellers. The data collection by interviewing seven sellers from Gabusan and seven sellers of Sukawati. It consist of administrator, sellers, distributor, visitor and social administrator. Besides, data is collected by direct observation and documentation. The result of the study can be shown as follows: First, the adaptation of Sukawati’s sellers is fairly positive (stay) rather than Gabusan’s sellers who decide to stay or go (negative). Adaptive capacity of the sellers influenced by information, institution contribution and so many kind of resources . Second Stakeholder, consisting local government (Administrator), private and societ. The social relationship concern between stakeholders and sellers. It is caused by Sukawati applies informal approach and Gabusan applies formal approach. Third, The cooperation between administrator and the official is very high, it is caused by Pasar Seni belongs to local government. But the Gabusan administrator has a complex duty rather than Sukowati. The private contribution as a distributor and the institution consist of production marketing reproduction and transactional. The villagers also play important role in trading activities, it can make them keep and promote Pasar Seni like in Sukawati. The result of this research is focus on the importance of integrity and reciprocity betwen the sellers and their stakeholders, especially sellers and government. They must believe each other, so it can create the integrity to reach the goal.Reciprocity is needed to get benefitcontinuously. Social involvement around there is influenced in developing Pasar seni. High contribution from society will create their wish to keep continuos Pasar Seni because the society also get the benefit of it. Key words: adaptive capacity, sellers, pasar seni
