TWO LEVEL CLUSTERING UNTUK ANALISIS KUESIONER AKADEMIK DI SEKOLAH TINGGI TEKNOLOGI ADISUTJIPTO YOGYAKARTA

Untuk menjaga kualitas dosen, institusi melakukan evaluasi kinerja dosen yang dapat berupa kuesioner akademik dimana kadang hasilnya bersifat subyektif. Untuk itu perlu dilakukan pengecekan konsistensi tingkat kepuasan mahasiswa terhadap proses belajar mengajar di kelas menggunakan kuesioner dan data akademik lainnya dengan pendekatan clustering. Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut dilakukan penelitian yang bertujuan untuk membangun sebuah aplikasi yang menerapkan pendekatan two level clustering dengan k-means dan average linkage clustering dalam melihat hubungan karakteristik kemampuan akademis mahasiswa dalam pengisian kuesioner kualitas mengajar dosen. Model yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah model two level clustering dengan dua tahapan cluster yaitu dengan metode cluster k-means dan average linkage. Model ini digunakan untuk mengelompokkan data mahasiswa menjadi beberapa cluster berdasarkan data nilai akademis mahasiswa dalam satu matakuliah sehingga data hasil cluster akademis dapat diklaster kembali berdasarkan jawaban kuesioner mahasiswa untuk setiap anggota cluster akademis. Hasil clustering pada level pertama menunjukkan jumlah cluster yang optimal adalah 2 dengan interprestasi cluster yang terbentuk adalah mahasiswa dengan kemampuan akademis yang BAIK dan CUKUP, sedangkan clustering level kedua menunjukkan jumlah cluster yang optimal adalah 2 dengan interprestasi cluster yang terbentuk adalah mahasiswa merasa PUAS, CUKUP PUAS dan TIDAK PUAS terhadap proses pengajaran di kelas.Tingkat kepuasan mahasiswa terhadap proses pengajaran secara dominan merasa PUAS pada kedua hasil cluster akademis.

To maintain the quality of lecturers, the institution conducts the evaluation of the consistency of the level of satisfaction of the teaching process such as academic questionnaire. However the academic questionnaire result sometimes are subjective. To overcome the problem, the academic questionnaire result must be checked with other academic data by clustering.Therefore, the development an application using two-clustering approach with k-means and average lingkage clustering is needed in order to study the relationship of characteristic of the student academic ability with the student assessment of the teaching quality of lecturer. The research model is a two level clustering model with two cluster stage, k-means and average lingkage clustering method. The model is used to classify student data into several clusters based on student academic ability. Then, the data of cluster academic result is clustered based on the questionnaire answer. The research result shows that the optimal for the first level clustering is two clusters with the cluster formed is the student with the academic ability which is good and enough, the second level clustering is two and three cluster with the cluster formed is the student feel satisfied, quite satisfied and not satisfied to the teaching process in the classroom. The interpretation result for academic clustering so that the student feel of the teaching process of lecturer has no differents between two academic cluster.
