KAJIAN PENCEMARAN LINGKUNGAN DI SEKITAR TEMPAT PEMBUANGAN AKHIR (TPA) JOMBORAN KECAMATAN KLATEN TENGAH, KABUPATEN KLATEN

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh TPA Jomboran terhadap kondisi abiotik dan biotik Sungai Kruwut yang terletak di belakang TPA, sebelum dan sesudah sungai mendapat aliran air dari saluran irigasi yang melewati sampah TPA yang overload, serta kondisi sosial masyarakat sekitar TPA ( persepsi masyarakat terhadap keberadaan TPA dan lingkungan sekitar TPA khususnya Sungai Kruwut). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah survey, analisis laboratorium, dan wawancara mendalam. Metode pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara purposive sampling pada lima titik lokasi di Sungai Kruwut. Data penunjang berupa data sekunder yang berasal dari instansi dan studi pustaka. Analisis data tingkat pencemaran air sungai dilakukan menggunakan metode Indeks Pencemaran (IP) dan kemudian hasil dari analisis dideskripsikan tingkat pencemaranya dan kategori kelas air yang masih memenuhi berdasarkan PP No 82 Tahun 2001. Analisis hasil wawancara dilakukan secara kualitatif dengan menarik kesimpulan hasil wawancara. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan semua titik sampling mengalami pencemaran ringan dan hanya sesuai untuk Kelas Air IV, yaitu untuk peruntukkan irigasi tanaman. Hasil analisis lapangan dan laboratorium menunjukkan terjadi penurunan pH dan meningkatnya kandungan total koliform setelah air dari saluran irigasi melewati tumpukan sampah TPA. Kandungan total koliform juga meningkat pada lokasi di mana terjadi percampuran antara air dari saluran irigasi dengan air dari sungai. Masyarakat berpendapat bahwa keberadaan TPA mencemari lingkungan baik udara, tanah, maupun air. Masyarakat juga berpendapat bahwa Sungai Kruwut yang terletak di belakang TPA selain tercemar oleh sampah TPA juga tercemar oleh aktivitas masyarakat di sekitar sungai. Strategi pengelolaan lingkungan yang direkomendasikan adalah rehabilitasi TPA dan pembangunan TPS3R dari lahan bekas TPA.

The aims of this study are to assess the impact of Jomboran final place of garbage disposal to abiotic and biotic condition of the Kruwut River located behind it, before and after the river flowed by the irrigation system that trough the garbage from Jomboran final place of garbage disposal. This study also aims to assess the social impact of local citizen near it ( the perception of local citizen about the existension of Jomboran final place of garbage disposal and the condition of the Kruwut River ). This study used survey method, laboratory analysis, and deep interview method. Collecting data was done by purposive sampling method at five location points of Kruwut River. Supports data were collected from local goverment and literature study. Analysis of the level of contamination of water river was done by contamination index method. The result of analysis is discrebed as the level of contamination and class category according to PP 82 Tahun 2001. Analysis of interview results was done by using qualitative method by taking conclusion of the interview. The results of this study showed all the points of sampling location is slighty contamination and only follow for plant irrigation class category ( Class Category IV). Field study and laboratory analysis showed the decreasing of water pH and increasing the total coliform content of water irrigation after the water trough the garbage from Jomboran final place of garbage disposal. The coliform content also increasing at the location of the water from irrigation system that through the garbage mixed with the river water. The local citizen suggest that the Jomboran final place of garbage disposal has been polluting the environment around it. The local citizen also suggest that the Kruwut River located behind it has been polluted by the garbage from it and from the activities of people near the river. The recommended strategic for environment management is rehabilitation of Jomboran final place of garbage disposal and change it to become temporary place for garbage disposal with adopts the 3R system (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle).
