Penelitian terhadap Ritus Lutu Metan dan Kore Metan masyarakat Mambai Turiscai Timor Leste bertujuan untuk: pertama, mengetahui dan memahami konsep Ritus Lutu Metan dan Kore Metan pada masyarakat Mambai Turiscai Timor Leste.; kedua, mengetahui dan memahami nilai-nilai Ritus Lutu Metan dan Kore Metan dan peranannya bagi masyarakat Mambai Turiscai Timor Leste; ketiga, mengetahui dan memahami relevansi hakikat Ritus Lutu Metan dan Kore Metan dengan hakikat nilai Max Scheler; keempat, mengetahui dan memahami relevansi peranan nilai-nilai Ritus Lutu Metan dan Kore Metan dengan hierarki nilai Max Scheler. Penelitian ini merupakan studi kepustakaan yang dilakukan sebagai dasar rujukan teoretis dalam proses penelitian. Adapun tata cara pengambilan data lapangan dilakukan dengan wawancara. Sedangkan analisis data dilakukan dengan tahapan-tahapan sebagai berikut: deskripsi, interpretasi, koherensi internal, heuristik dan verstehen. Hasil yang dicapai dalam penelitian ini, antara lain: pertama, Ritus Lutu Metan dan Kore Metan merupakan tradisi perkabungan untuk menghormati, mengenang dan melepaskan seorang anggota keluarga yang telah meninggal untuk memasuki suatu dunia yang baru, surga. Tradisi tersebut merupakan warisan leluhur yang telah dijalankan hingga saat ini. Kedua, Ritus Lutu Metan dan Kore Metan sungguh memiliki nilai-nilai kehidupan, baik bagi masyarakat Mambai; bagi masyarakat di seluruh wilayah Timor Leste maupun bagi setiap anak manusia, yaitu nilai iman, harapan dan cinta, nilai social, nilai persatuan, dan kebersamaan serta nilai kekerabatan. Ketiga, hakikat Ritus Lutu Metan dan Kore Metan memiliki relevansi dengan hakikat nilai Max Scheler, yaitu bahwa Ritus Lutu Metan dan Kore Metan tetap ada dan hidup serta tidak terbatas pada ruang dan waktu. Ritus Lutu Metan dan Kore Metan adalah identitas diri masyarakat Mambai; Ritus Lutu Metan dan Kore Metan adalah milik dari setiap anggota masyarakat Mambai Turiscai Timor Leste. Ia tetap ada sebagaimana adanya, dan tak tergantikan. Keempat, nilai-nilai Ritus Lutu Metan dan Kore Metan sesungguhnya memiliki relevansi peranan dengan hierarki nilai Max Scheler, yaitu bagi tindakan dan pembentukan indentitas diri masyarakat Mambai.

Research on the Lutu Metan and Kore Metan Rites in the Mambai Turiscai community of Timor Leste aims to: firstly, know and understand the concept of the Lutu Metan and Kore Metan Rites in the Mambai Turiscai community of Timor Leste; second, knowing and understanding the values of the Lutu Metan and Kore Metan Rites and the role for the Mambai Turiscai people of Timor Leste; third, to know and understand the relevance of the essence of the Lutu Metan and Kore Metan Rites with the essence of the value of Max Scheler; fourth, knowing and understanding the relevance of the role of the Rites of Lutu Metan and Kore Metan Rites with Max Scheler's hierarchy of values. This research is a literature study conduced as the basis of theoretical references in the research process. The data collection procedure is done by interview. While data analysis is done with stages as follows: description, interpretation, internal coherence, heuristic and verstehen. The results achieved in this study, among others: first, the Lutu Metan and Kore Metan Rites is a tradition of mourning to honor, remember and release a deceased family member to enter a new world, heaven. The tradition is an ancestral heritage that has been run to date. Secondly, the Lutu Metan and Kore Metan Rites really have the values of life, both for the Mambai people; for people throughout the territory of East Timor as well as for every human child, namely the value of faith, hope and love, social value, unity value, and togetherness and kinship values. Thirdly, the essence of the Lutu Metan and Kore Metan Rites has the relevance to the essence of the value of Max Scheler, namely that the Lutu Metan and Kore Metan Rites remain and is alive and not limited to space and time. The Lutu Metan and Kore Metan Rites is the self-identity of the Mambai people; The Lutu Metan and Kore Metan Rites is the property of every member of the Mambai Turiscai community of East Timor. It remains as it is, and is irreplaceable. Fourth, the values of Lutu Metan and Kore Metan Rites are actually of relevance to the role of Max Scheler's hierarchy, which is for the action and the formation of the self-identity of the Mambai people.
