Globalisasi dan persaingan di pasar internasional telah mendorong sektor perusahaan industrial Korea Selatan untuk mengembangkan rantai nilai produksinya secara global. Tak terkecuali bagi Samsung Elektronik yang merupakan salah satu raksasa industrial Korea Selatan kemudian melihat potensi kawasan Asia Tenggara (ASEAN) terkhusus Vietnam dengan besarnya peluang ekonomi dari sektor usia tenaga kerja produktif serta keberadaan secara geografis yang dimiliki oleh Vietnam sebagai sebuah strategi penting dalam mengembangkan rantai nilai global untuk memenuhi kebutuhan produk industrinya terutama smartphone. Oleh karena terbukanya peluang menjalin kerjasama dengan Samsung Elektronik tak sedikit perusahaan lokal Vietnam memanfaatkan hal ini untuk guna bergabung ke rantai nilai global Samsung Elektronik. Disisi lain, Samsung Elektronik dengan tanggung jawab untuk memenuhi kuota produksi sehingga membutuhkan bantuan perusahaan lokal untuk memproduksi komponen-komponen tertentu sebagai pemasok. Sehingga, kemitraan Vietnam dalam rantai nilai Samsung Elektronik ini telah memungkinkannya untuk membangun sebuah sistem pengembangan dan produksi yang unik dan fleksibel berdasarkan kompleksitas transfer informasi dan pengetahuan yang dibutuhkan untuk mempertahankan transaksi, terutama berkenaan dengan spesifikasi produk dan prosesnya memenuhi permintaan global secara cepat menjadikan rantai nilai global Samsung Elektronik di Vietnam ber tipe captive value chain serta menjadikan Vietnam memegang peranan penting bagi rantai nilai global Samsung Elektronik.

Globalization and competition in the international market have encouraged South Korea's industrial sector to develop their global production chain. No exception for Samsung Electronics which is one of the South Korean industrial giants and then they see the potential of Southeast Asia (ASEAN) in particular Vietnam with the enormous economic opportunities of Vietnam's growing labor sector as an important strategy in the development of the Global Value Chain to meet the needs of industrial products especially smartphones. Therefore divided the opportunity to establish cooperation with Samsung Electronics not a few local companies Vietnam to take advantage of this opportunity to joined the global value chain of Samsung Electronics. On the other hand, Samsung Electronics is responsible for fulfilling production quotas, so it requires the help of local companies to produce certain components as suppliers. With the result that Vietnam's partnership in Samsung Electronics' value chain has enabled it to build a unique and flexible development and production system based on the complexity of information transfer and the knowledge which required to sustain transactions, also addressing product specifications and processes to meet rapid global demand for Samsung Electronics’ products make the relations of Global Value Chain between Samsung Electronic and Vietnam is the captive value chain and make Vietnam played an important role for global Samsung Electronics.
