Water treatment plant merupakan suatu unit yang sangat penting pada proses pembangkitan tenaga listrik. Water treatment plant adalah sistem yang berfungsi untuk mengubah nilai konduktivitas air tawar melalui proses demineralisasi. Dalam proses pembangkitan listrik pada PLTU, nilai konduktivitas ini menjadi acuan dalam menentukan kualitas air. Karena pada PLTU semakin tinggi nilai konduktivitas air maka semakin buruk kualitsanya, karena dapat mempercepat terjadinya korosi pada peralatan-peralatan pembangkit listrik yang berbahan logam. Pada proses operasi water treatment plant atau unit pengolahan air apabila air memiliki nilai konduktivitas >0,2 µS air akan di drain secara manual oleh operator melalui positive discharge valve. Karena air produk WTP dengan tingkat konduktivitas yang tinggi dapat mempercepat terjadinya korosi pada peralatan pembangkit apabila air tetap digunakan pada proses pembangkitan listrik. Dengan penambahan fungsi auto drain ini diharapkan dapat menjadi sistem pengaman agar demineralized water yang digunakan untuk proses pembangkitan listrik memiliki kualitas yang baik.

Water treatment plant is a very important unit in the process of electricity generation. Water treatment plant is a system that serves to change the value of raw water conductivity through demineralization process. In the process of electricity generation at PLTU, this conductivity value becomes the reference in determining the water quality. Because at PLTU, the higher the conductivity of water, the worse the water quality, because it can accelerate the occurrence of corrosion on the equipment of electricity that made of metal. In operation process of water treatment plant or water treatment unit if the water had conductivity value >0,2 μS, the water would be drained manually by operator through positive discharge valve. Because the water product of WTP with high conductivity value can accelerate the corrosion on the generator equipment if the water is still used in the electricity generation process. With the addition of auto drain function, it is expected to be a safety system for demineralized water used for electricity generation process has a good quality.
