Tugas akhir ini berjudul Terjemahan Cerita Rakyat Jepang Neko no Okimono wo Urumise, Otohimesama no Kureta Neko dan Obousan ni Natta Ushi. Ketiga cerita diambil dari laman Fukumusume Douwashuu no Kyou no Nihon Minwa no Mukashi Banashi. Ketiga cerita tersebut bercerita tentang binatang pembawa keberuntungan bagi pemiliknya. Selain itu, di cerita ini juga menceritakan kesetiaan binatang terhadap majikannya. Cerita Rakyat Jepang Neko no Okimono wo Urumise, Otohimesama no Kureta Neko dan Obousan ni Natta Ushi dipilih karena cerita ini mudah dipahami oleh anak-anak dan banyak mengandung pesan moral. Misalnya, ketika menghadapi permasalahan sehari-hari harus bersabar dan tidak mudah putus asa. Kesulitan yang dialami ketika menerjemahkan cerita ini adalah memahami makna idiom dalam bahasa Jepang. Kedua, mencari persamaan kata yang tepat dari bahasa Jepang ke dalam bahasa Indonesia. Dikarenakan cerita ini diperuntukkan untuk anak-anak maka pemilihan ungkapan serta kosakata harus tepat dan mudah agar dipahami oleh anak-anak.

The title of this final paper is The Translation of Japanese Folklore Neko no Okimono wo Urumise, Otohimesama no Kureta Neko and Obousan ni Natta Ushi. The three stories are taken from Fukumusume Douwashuu no Kyou no Nihon Minwa no Mukashi Banashi page.The three stories tell about the animal who brings the luck for the owner. In addition, this story also tells the loyalty of animals to their employers. Japanese Folklore Neko no Okimono wo Urumise, Otohimesama no Kureta Neko and Obousan ni Natta Ushi are chosen because the story is easy to understand for children and they contain moral messages. For example in facing daily problems a person should be patient and persistent. The problem when translating this story is to understand the exact meaning of Japanese idiom. Second problem is finding equal Indonesian words from Japanese expressions. Since the story is for children, the choice of expression and vocabulary should be precise and easy for children to understand
