Evaluasi Tingkat Pemahaman Wisata Edukasi Lingkungan Animal Care Pada Pengunjung Pelajar di Wildlife Rescue Centre Kulon Progo

INTISARI Wisata Edukasi Lingkungan (Animal Care) merupakan salah program fund raising di bidang pendidikan konservasi yang ditujukan untuk pengunjung pelajar dengan tujuan memberikan pengetahuan seputar satwa Indonesia khususnya yang dilindungi serta memberikan pesan kepada pengunjung untuk lebih bertanggung jawab terhadap lingkungan. Wildlife Rescue Centre merupakan field project dari yayasan Konservasi Alam Yogyakarta. Fokus penelitian ini ditekankan pada perubahan tingkat pemahaman dan pengetahuan pengunjung sebelum dan setelah mengikuti program animal care. Metode penelitian yang dipergunakan merupakan metode deskriptif dengan sumber data yang didapat dari hasil ujian/tes dengan menggunakan tiga aspek kognitif yaiti; Pengetahuan (C1); Pemahaman (C2); Evaluasi (C6), yang diberikan kepada pengunjung pelajar yang mengikuti program Animal Care. Untuk mengetahui perubahan tingkat pemahaman pengunjung tes diberikan sebanyak dua kali yaitu sebelum mengikuti program (pre test) dan setelah mengikuti program (post test) yang diberikan kepada 100 respoden pelajar. Dari tes yang dibagikan, penelitian ini memaparkan hasil pre test dan post test mengenaiperubahan tingkat pemahaman pengunjung dengan menghitung skor post test dikurangi dengan skor pre test sehingga mendapatkan skor kesenjangan. Kemudian didapat kesimpulan dan saran untuk peningkatan kualitas pendidikan konservasi alam Animal Care. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa semua indikator pertanyaan memperoleh skor kesenjangan positif sehingga dapat dikatan bahwa program pendidikan konservasi Animal Care di Wildlife Rescue Centre telah sesuai dengan tujuan pendidikan lingkungan. Perbaikan kualitas edukasi lingkungan tetap diperlukan agar semakin baik di kedepannya.

ABSTRACT Environmental Education Tour Animal Care is one of the fund raising program in conservation education aimed at student visitors with the purpose of providing knowledge about the protected Indonesian wildlife as well as presenting a message to the visitors to be more environmentally responsible. Wildlife Rescue Center is a field project by Konservasi Alam Yogyakarta (Conservation of Nature Foundation). The focus of this research is emphasized on changes in the level of understanding and knowledge of the visitors before and after taking the Animal Care program. The applied research method is descriptive method with data source obtained from the result of a test by using three cognitive aspect, namely; Knowledge (C1); Understanding (C2); Evaluation (C6), which is given to the student visitors who take the Animal Care program. To discover the change in the level of understanding, a number of 100 student respondents of the visitors are given a test twice, which are before taking the program (pre test) and after taking the program (post test). From the distributed tests, this research explains the results of pre test and post test by calculating the post test score minus the pre test score to obtain the gap score, and then presents the conclusions and suggestions for improving the quality of nature conservation education Animal Care. The result shows that all the question indicators score positive gaps, thus it can be concluded that the Animal Care conservation educational program in the Wildlife Rescue Center has been in line with environmental education objectives. Improving the quality of environmental education is still required to be better in the future.
