Topik Penelitian ini membahas tentang strategi pelestarian eks Hoogere Kweekschol di Purworejo. Berdasarkan UU No.11 Tahun 2010 tentang Cagar Budaya, strategi pelestarian meliputi pelindungan, pengembangan, dan pemanfaatan. Selain membahas strategi pelestariannya, penelitian ini juga membahas mengenai kondisi bangunan, arti khusus, dan pelestariannya sejauh ini. Permasalahan dan Tujuan Hingga sekarang, eks Hoogere Kweekschool masih dimanfaatkan sebagai sekolah. Kebutuhan sekolah yang terus berkembang mengakibatkan beberapa bangunan lama mengalami perubahan, baik fungsi dan fisik. Oleh karena itu diperlukan strategi khusus untuk melestarikannya. Penelitian ini akan menghasilkan strategi pelestarian yang tepat untuk eks Hoogere Kweekschool Purworejo, sehingga bangunan dapat dilestarikan dan dimanfaatkan dengan baik serta dapat dikembangkan untuk kepentingan lain. Metode Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan penalaran induktif. Analisis yang digunakan adalah CRM yaitu menilai arti khusus eks kompleks HKS Purworejo yang meliputi arti khusus sejarah, ilmu pengetahuan, dan kebudayaan. Setelah itu merancang strategi pelestarian eks kompleks HKS Purworejo. Kesimpulan Eks HKS Purworejo disarankan untuk segera ditetapkan sebagai Kawasan Cagar Budaya peringkat nasional. Selama dalam proses penetapan harus diperlakukan sebagai Cagar Budaya dengan cara melindungi, mengembangkan, dan memanfaatkannya. Pelestarian eks kompleks HKS Purworejo dapat melibatkan partisipasi masyarakat. Dalam pemanfaatannya, eks kompleks HKS Purworejo disarankan untuk tetap dimanfaatkan sebagai kompleks sekolah, namun pemanfaatanya harus tetap memperhatikan aspek pelestariannya.

Topic This study discusses about the strategy of conservation of former Hoogere Kweekschol in Purworejo. Based on Law No.11 of 2010 on Cultural Heritage, the conservation strategy includes protection, development, and utilization. In addition, this study also discusses the condition of the building, its special significance, and its conservation so far. Problems and Purposes Today, former Hoogere Kweekschool used as a school. The growing school needs resulted in some of old buildings are undergoing changes, both functional and physical. Therefore a special strategy is needed to preserve it. This research will produce an appropriate conservation strategy for the former Hoogere Kweekschool Purworejo, so the building can be conserved and utilized properly and can be developed for other purposes. Method This research uses descriptive method with inductive reasoning. The analysis used is CRM that is assessing the special meaning of HKS Purworejo's former complex which includes the special meaning of history, science, and culture. After that, designing the conservation strategy of HKS Purworejo's former complex. Conclusion The ex HKS Purworejo is recommended to be immediately designated as a National Heritage Preservation Area. During the process of determination should be treated as a Cultural Heritage by protecting, developing and utilizing it. Preservation of HKS Purworejo's former complex may involve community participation. In its utilization, the former HKS Purworejo complex is advised to be utilized as a school complex, but its use should still take into account its preservation aspect.
