Estimasi Nilai Heritabilitas Average Daily Gain Domba Garut di Unit Pelaksana Teknis Dinas Balai Pengembangan Perbibitan Ternak Domba, Margawati, Garut, Jawa Barat

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengestimasi nilai heritabilitas Average Dailiy Gain (ADG) prasapih pada Domba Garut. Hasil penelitian diharapkan dapat digunakan sebagai sumber informasi dalam peningkatan mutu genetic Domba Garut. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Unit Pelaksana Teknis Dinas Balai Pengembangan Perbibitan Ternak Domba (UPTD-BPPTD) Margawati Garut Jawa Barat, pada Mei 2016 sampai Juni 2016. Materi penelitian yang digunakan adalah data silsilah Domba Garut yang berasal dari perkawinan dari induk dan pejantan yang meliputi catatan berat lahir, berat sapih, jenis kelamin, tipe kelahiran dan umur sapih 100 hari. Data yang diperoleh dikoreksi terhadap jenis kelamin, tipe kelahiran dan umur sapih. Estimasi heritabilitas dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode korelasi saudara tiri sebapak (Paternal half-sib correlation) dan metode analisa saudara kandung (Full-sib method of Analysis)dengan data analisis variansi rancangan acak lengkap pola searah (Completely Randomized Design One-Way Classification) dan pola tersarang. Hasil estimasi nilai heritabilitas ADG menggunakan metode korelasi saudara tiri sebapak sebesar 0,57 plus minus 0,08. Hasil nilai heritabilitas ADG yang didapatkan dengan metode pola tersarang berturut-turut adalah 0,33 plus minus 0,09 (h2s), 0,43 plus minus 0,13 (h2d), dan 0,37 plus minus 0,19 (h2s plus d). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa nilai heritabilitas ADG prasapih domba Garut di Unit Pelaksana Teknis Dinas Balai Pengembangan Perbibitan Ternak Domba Margawati, Garut, Jawa Barat termasuk dalam kategori tinggi.

The aim of this study is to estimated heritability value of pre weaning Average Daily Gain (ADG) of Garut Sheep. The result of the study is expected can be used as a source of information on improving the genetic quality of Garut Sheep. This research was conducted in Technical Implementation Unit Development Center for Livestock Breeding in Margawati Garut, West Java, on May 2016 to June 2016. This study used progeny data of Garut Sheep which includes records of birth weight, weaning weight, sex, type of birth and weaning age of 100 days. Data were obtained by corrected for sex, type of birth and weaning age. Estimation of heritability used paternal half-sib correlation method and full-sib method with Completely Randomized Design One-Way Classification and nested method of analysis. The estimation of heritability value of ADG using paternal half sib correlation method was 0.57plus minus 0.08. The results of heritability value ADG obtained by the method of nested pattern was 0.33 plus minus 0.09 (h2s), 0.43 plus minus 0.13 (h2d), dan 0.37 plus minus 0.19 (h2s plus d). The result of this study showed that the heritability of ADG in the Garut sheep pre weaning in Technical Implementation Unit Development Center for Livestock Breeding in Margawati Garut, West Java was in the high category.
