THE LINK BETWEEN THE EDUCATION IN ENGLISH PROGRAM VOCATIONAL COLLEGE UGM WITH THE ALUMNIS OCCUPATION: A CASE STUDY OF THE YEAR 2012 STUDENTS WHO GRADUATED IN 2015

Alumni merupakan salah satu komponen terpenting dalam menentukan akreditasi suatu institusi baik oleh pemerintah maupun oleh masyarakat pada umumnya. Karena secara tidak langsung alumni merupakan representasi institusi di dunia kerja dan masyarakat. Dalam hal ini penulis mengambil sampel program diploma Bahasa Inggris angkatan tahun 2012 yang lulus pada tahun 2015 Sekolah Vokasi Universitas Gadjah Mada. Dan tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui keterkaitan kurikulum program diploma Bahasa Inggris dengan pekerjaan para alumni program Diploma Bahasa Inggris. Metode yang digunakan oleh penulis untuk mengumpulkan data mengenai penelusuran alumni adalah metode studi lapangan, penyebaran kuesioner , dan studi pustaka. Metode dengan penyebaran kuesioner dilakukan dengan menyebarkan daftar pertanyaan yang telah disusun secara online dengan menggunakan google from. Dan disebarkan melalui grup jurusan maupun dengan mengirim pesan langsung kepada alumni program diploma Bahasa Inggris Sekolah Vokasi Universitas Gadjah Mada angkatan 2012 yang lulus pada tahun 2015. Studi lapangan berupa observasi lapangan dan wawancara mengenai profil Subdirektorat Hubungan Alumni Universitas Gadjah Mada. Sedangkan untuk studi pustaka adalah dengan mencari sumber buku, artikel maupun jurnal yang terkait dengan penelusuran alumni. Berdasarkan penelitian dan hasil dari kuesioner yang telah diisi oleh alumni program diploma Bahasa Inggris angkatan tahun 2012, hampir seluruh reesponden menyatakan bahwa kurikulum yang mereka peroleh selama menempuh studi di program diploma Bahasa Inggris berkaitan dengan pekerjaan mereka sekarang. Para alumni juga menyatakan bahwa Indeks Prestasi Kumulatif atau IPK tidak berpengaruh terhadap proses memperoleh pekerjaan mereka saat ini. Serta rata-rata alumni program diploma Bahasa Inggris Sekolah Vokasi Universitas Gadjah Mada angkatan 2012 yang lulusan tahun 2015 mampu memperoleh pekerjaan fulltime mereka kurang dari tiga bulan setelah lulusan dari Universitas Gadjah Mada.

Alumni is one of the most important components in determining an institution accredited by the government and by society in general. Since it is indirect, alumni are the representation of an institution in the world of work and society. In this case, the writer chooses alumni of English diploma program year of 2012 who graduated in 2015 Vocational College of Universitas Gadjah Mada. Furthermore, the main purpose of this research is to determine the relevance of curriculum in English diploma program with the job of alumni. The writer used three methods to collect data about tracer study. There are field studies, survey, and literature. The method of survey was conducted by distributing a list of structured questions online using google form. Besides, the writer sent through to the group of major, personal media social and message to alumni of English diploma program Vocational College of Universitas Gadjah Mada year of 2012 who graduated in year of 2015. The field study in the form of field observations and interviews about the profile of Subdirectorate of Alumni Relations Universitas Gadjah Mada. While, the study of litterature is to find a source of books, articles and journals related tothe topic. Based on the research and the results of the questionnaires completed by alumni of English diploma program year of 2012, almost all respondents stated that the curriculum courses they acquired during their studies in English diploma program related to their current job. The alumni also stated that the Grade Point Average or GPA does not affect the process of obtaining their current job. Moreover, the average of English diploma program alumni Vocational College of Universitas Gadjah Mada year of 2012 who graduated in year of 2015 was able to obtain their fulltime job less than three months after graduated from the Universitas Gadjah Mada.
