EVALUASI PENGELOLAAN LIMBAH MEDIS PADAT DI RS PKU MUHAMMADIYAH BIMA NTB

Latar Belakang. Rumah sakit merupakan salah satu penghasil limbah medis terbesar. Keberadaan limbah medis di RS PKU Muhammadiyah Bima NTB merupakan hasil dari aktifitas yang sangat kompleks. Limbah medis tersebut apabila tidak dikelola dengan baik sesuai dengan standar yang berlaku, dapat membahayakan dan menimbulkan gangguan kesehatan terutama bagi petugas yang menangani limbah, pasien, pengunjung dan masyarakat sekitar rumah sakit. Tujuan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melakukan evaluasi pengelolaan limbah medis padat di RS PKU Muhammadiyah Bima NTB. Metode. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan rancangan studi kasus yang bersifat deskriptif untuk mengevaluasi input, proses dan output pengelolaan limbah medis padat di RS PKU Muhammadiyah Bima NTB. Informan dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari 22 orang yang dipilih dengan metode purposive sampling. Hasil. Evaluasi input, RS PKU Muhammadiyah Bima telah memiliki SPO pengelolaan limbah medis padat akan tetapi masih dalam perbaikan karena belum sesuai dengan standar, alokasi dana untuk pengelolaan limbah medis belum terencana secara formal melainkan secara insidental, SDM pengelola limbah medis padat belum pernah diikutkan pada pelatihan pengelolaan limbah medis, serta sarana dan prasarana yang dimiliki sebagian besar belum cukup memadai untuk proses pengelolaan limbah medis padat. Evaluasi proses, pemilahan dan pewadahan sudah dilakukan sesuai standar kecuali pelabelan yang belum memilki logo berdasarkan kategori limbah medis. Pengangkutan limbah medis dan non-medis belum dipisah dan belum memiliki jalur khusus pengangkutan limbah medis serta TPS limbah medis belum memenuhi standar. Evaluasi output, dari hasil wawancara ada satu orang petugas pengumpul limbah medis yang mengaku terkena dampak yaitu berupa gatal pada bagian tangan, sementara informan lainnya menyatakan tidak mengalami gangguan kesehatan terkait pengelolaan limbah medis padat di RS PKU Muhammadiyah Bima. Kesimpulan. Pihak RS PKU Muhammadiyah Bima perlu lebih memperhatikan pengelolaan limbah medis padat yang dihasilkannya agar sesuai dengan standar yang telah ditetapkan.

Background: The hospital is one of the largest producer of medical waste. The existence of medical waste at RS PKU Muhammadiyah Bima NTB is the result of a very complex activity. The medical waste if not properly managed in accordance with the applicable standards can be dangerous and cause health problems, especially for officers who handle waste, patients, visitors and the local community around the hospital. Objective: This study was conducted to evaluate the solid waste management at PKU Muhammadiyah Bima NTB. Methods: This present research was qualitative research with case study design that was descriptive in nature for evaluating the input, process and output of solid medical waste management at PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital Bima NTB. Informants of this research consisted of 22 people that were selected using purposive sampling. Results: SOP regarding the management of solid medical waste at RS PKU Muhammadiyah Bima are available, but the available SOP is currently under repair. PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital, Bima is yet to determine the allocation of special funds for the medical waste management, human resources of solid medical waste has not been included in the training of medical waste management, and facilities and infrastructure owned by PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital mostly not sufficient to process solid medical waste management. Evaluation process, segregation and storage has been done according to the standard unless the labeling is not yet have the logo is based on the category of medical waste. Transport of medical waste and non-medical has not separated and has not had a special line transport of medical waste and medical waste interim storage areas not meet the standards. Evaluation of output, from the interview one person collectors medical waste that claim affected the form of itching on the hands, other than it was another officer, patients, visitors and the surrounding community PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital not admitted to not having health problems related to the management of medical waste solid at PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital Bima. Conclusion: Solid medical waste management at PKU Muhammadiyah Bima hospital in majority have not met the standards that apply mainly on the input variables and the process variables of solid medical waste management.
