KONSEP PARTISIPATORIS MODEL KKN-PPM UNIVERSITAS GADJAH MADA DALAM PERSPEKTIF FILSAFAT PENDIDIKAN PAULO FREIRE (1921-1997)

Tesis ini berjudul Konsep Partisipatoris Model KKN-PPM Universitas Gadjah Mada Dalam Perspektif Filsafat Pendidikan Paulo Freire (1921-1997). Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang model KKN-PPM Universitas Gadjah Mada yang memadukan konsep Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi, melalui pengerahan mahasiswa untuk berpartisipasi dalam pembangunan masyarakat. KKN-PPM sebagai langkah awal untuk berintegrasi dengan masyarakat sebagai upaya agar mahasiswa memiliki rasa empati terhadap permasalahan kontekstual yang dihadapi masyarakat dan mencari penyelesaian dengan memberdayakan sumber daya yang dimiliki masyarakat. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) memaparkan nilai-nilai dasar model KKN-PPM Universitas Gadjah Mada; (2) menggungkapkan pandangan umum dan garis besar pemikiran Paulo Freire mengenai konsep pendidikan partisipatoris; (3) memberikan evaluasi kritis relevansi dan kontribusi konsep partisipatoris Paulo Freire terhadap perkembangan model KKN-PPM Universitas Gadjah Mada. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pustaka.Bahan dan materi penelitian ini diperoleh melalui penelusuran pustaka yang terdiri atas pustaka primer dan pustaka sekunder. Langkah-langkah yang ditempuh dalam penelitian ini meliputi; Pertama, inventarisasi data dengan jalan mengumpulkan dan menginventarisir data. Kedua, mengklasifikasikan data sesuai dengan data primer dan sekunder. Ketiga, menganalisis semua data dalam rangka menemukan hasil akhir. Keempat, hasil analisis yang diperoleh kemudian diuraikan dalam tulisan yang sistematis dan dilakukan koreksi yang sistematis. Data dalam penelitian akan dianalisis menggunakan metode hermeneutika filosofis dengan beberapa unsur-unsur metodis seperti deskripsi, verstehen, interpretasi dan refleksi-kritis. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu pertama, nilai dasar KKN-PPM UGM bahwa mahasiswa dan masyarakat diposisikan sebagai subjek dan realitas sebagai objek dengan berdasar pada prinsip empati-partisipatif menjunjung tinggi dialogis dan interaksi mahasiswa dan masyarakat dalam proses pemberdayaan. Kedua, pendidikan partisipatif yang menekankan keterlibatan anak didik sebagai subjek agar dapat melakukan pendidikan secara aktif dan kritis, ini merupakan pendidikan kritis dalam konteks kekuatan penyadaran menjadi point utama yaitu kesadaran kritis yang dicapai melalui pendidikan. Ketiga, konsep partisipatoris memberikan kontribusi KKN-PPM sebagai upaya membangkitkan kesadaran akan potensi dan daya masyarakat, sehingga masyarakat sebagai subjek penting memiliki inisiatif untuk berdaya, ini akan menciptakan kemandirian masyarakat melalui proses pemberdayaan tidak terjebak dalam ketergantungan dan penindasan stake holder.

This thesis is entitled The Concept of Participatory on the Community Service Program KKN-PPM in Gadjah Mada University the Perspective of the philosophy of education Paulo Freire. This research will focus on the community service program (KKN-PPM) applied in Universitas Gadjah Mada. As a matter fact, this program aims to collaborate the Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi concept through getting the students participate in the society. KKN-PPM is an integrated way to connect the university students with the society as well as to encourage the students's awareness towards social issues faced by the society. This program also expects the students to be able to help the society solving their problems with their own efforts. The objectives of this research are (1) to explain the basic concept of KKN-PPM applied in Universitas Gadjah Mada; (2) to state the general review and the idea of Paulo Freire about the concept of parsipatory education; (3) to evaluate critically towards the relevance and contribution of Paulo Freire theory in the development of KKN-PPM Universitas Gadjah Mada. This is a literary research. The content and material of this research were divided into two: the main literature and the secondary literature. There are four steps used to accomplishes the result of this research. First, collecting the data. Second, classifying the data based on the main and secondary literature. Third, analyzing the data. Fourth, reporting and correcting the result of this research. The research data will be analyzed using the methods of philosophical hermeneutics with the following elements: descriptive, verstehen, interpretative, and critical reflection. The results of this research are: first, the basic concept of KKN-PPM UGM which requires the students to become a subject in the project and applies the empathy-participative principal upholds the tradition of having dialogue and interaction between the students and the society. Second, the participatory education is a system that encourages the students to be more proactive and critical. The main point of this concept is the awareness of each subject towards their reality as becoming an object. Third, the participatory concept roles as an effort to encourage the society awareness on their own capacity, so that the society would be able to become independent.
