Fakta-Fakta Cerita dan Tema dalam Novel Gadis Tangsi karya Suparto Brata: Analisis Struktur Novel Model Stanton

Objek formal dalam penelitian ini ialah teori struktur novel menurut Robert Stanton yang digunakan sebagai pendekatan terhadap objek material. Objek material dalam penelitian ini ialah novel Gadis Tangsi karya Suparto Brata. Dengan menggunakan teori struktur novel Robert Stanton, penelitian ini berfokus pada analisis unsur-unsur karya sastra yang terdiri dari fakta-fakta cerita (tokoh dan penokohan, latar, dan alur) dan tema kemudian menemukan hubungan antarunsur dalam novel Gadis Tangsi. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa tokoh dan penokohan dalam novel ini dapat digolongkan menjadi tokoh bulat, tokoh datar, tokoh utama, dan tokoh bawahan. Tokoh utama sekaligus tokoh bulat dalam novel ini ialah Teyi. Tokoh bawahan dalam novel ini cukup banyak, tetapi yang selalu mendukung perkembangan tokoh utama ialah Raminem, Wongsodirjo, dan Putri Parasi. Tokoh bawahan dikategorikan ke dalam tokoh datar kecuali Putri Parasi karena ia tergolong ke dalam tokoh bulat. Kehadiran tokoh bawahan dapat memperkuat karakter dan membuat ketegangan dalam cerita. Latar yang digunakan dalam novel ini meliputi latar tempat, waktu, sosial-budaya, dan atmosfer. Alur yang tersaji merupakan alur maju dengan teknik pengaluran plausibilitas, backtracking, foreshadowing, dan suspense. Tema yang ditemukan dalam novel Gadis Tangsi merupakan hasil pertemuan dua budaya yang menyimbolkan hasrat manusia. Dengan dilakukannya analisis struktural pada novel Gadis Tangsi maka dapat ditemukan hubungan antarunsur yang membentuk kesatuan cerita.

Formal object of this research is to use the theory of structure novel by Robert Stanton as an approach to the material object. Material object in this research is the novel Gadis Tangsi by Suparto Brata. By using a theory of structure novel by Robert Stanton, this research focuses on the analysis of the elements of literature that consists of facts of the story (character and characterization, setting, and groove) and then find the theme of the relationship between elements in the novel Gadis Tangsi. The analysis showed that the characters and characterizations in this novel can be classified into round figures, flat characters, the main character, and the character of subordinates. The main character, a character in this novel is rounded Teyi. Subordinate characters in this novel is quite a lot, but who has always supported the development of the main character is Raminem, Wongsodirjo, and Princess Parasi. Prominent figures subordinates categorized into flat except Princess Parasi because he belonged to the rounded figures. Attendance figures can strengthen the subordinate characters and create tension in the story. Background used in this novel background includes space, time, socio-cultural, and atmosphere. Flow presented an advanced workflow techniques presentasion of the groove, plausibility, backtracking, foreshadowing and suspense. Themes found in the novel Girl Tangsi is the result of the meeting of two cultures that symbolize the human desire. By doing analysis of structure novel for Gadis Tangsi could be found in the relationship between elements that form a unified story.
