Pegadaian (Persero) merupakan satu-satunya BUMN di Indonesia yang memiliki hak untuk melakukan pinjaman dengan hukum gadai. Relasi sosial atasan dan bawahan diakui merupakan komponen penting bagi PT. Pegadaian (Persero) dalam mengoptimalkan performa perusahaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami relasi sosial antara manajer dan supervisor dengan setting perusahaan Indonesia. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif yang dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan grounded theory. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini dipilih menggunakan teknik networking. Proses pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan open-ended questionnaire kepada beberapa manajer dan supervisor yang telah ditetapkan sebelumnya. Proses wawancara dan analisis data dilakukan secara konkruen, hingga diperoleh data yang saturated dan konsep teori telah terintegrasi sepenuhnya. Seluruh data yang diperoleh nantinya akan dianalisis menggunakan open coding, axial coding dan selective coding. Hasil penelitian relasi sosial manajer dan supervisor ini mencerminkan pola relasi dyadic. Penelitan ini menemukan 4 aspek relasi manajer dan supervisor, seperti: kedekatan, keterbukaan, knowledge sharing, dan developing others. Esensi dari penelitian ini adalah establishing growth.
Every company was tried to optimize their performance to survive in the middle of industry competition. PT. Pegadaian (Persero) was the only one state-owned company that could give a loan with pawn's law. Social relation between managements and employees were acknowledged as important component for PT. Pegadaian (Persero) to optimize their performance. This paper was aimed to understand social relation between manager and supervisor in Indonesian company's setting. This paper was qualitative research and conducted by using a grounded theory approach. Participants in this study were selected using networking technique. In-depth interviews, observation, and open-ended questionnaire were conducted for the selected managers and supervisors. Interview process and analysis data was undertook concurrently, until the information became saturated and the theory was integrated. All data obtained was analyzed using the open coding, axial coding and selective coding. The results of the study of social relations managers and supervisors reflected the pattern of dyadic relationships. This research found four aspects of the relationship between manager and supervisor, which were: attachment, openness, knowledge sharing, and developing others. The essence of this research was establishing growth.
