Wisuda adalah suatu proses dimana alumni mendapatkan gelarnya dan rektor sebagai pimpinan tertinggi universitas menyaksikannya secara langsung. Selama acara upacara wisuda tersebut dilaksanakan, rektor adalah pemeran utama yang diklasifikasikan sebagai orang dengan jabatan tertinggi. Dengan didampingi para pimpinan yang lain, rektor memiliki peran yang sangat vital dalam suatu proses wisuda. Ada beberapa peran yang akan dibahas di dalam tugas akhir ini; di antaranya adalah Rektor, Wakil Rektor dan Dekan Fakultas/Direktur Sekolah. Dalam perkembangannya, tata letak tempat duduk menjadi poin yang harus diperhatikan ketika ada sebuah acara dimana mengundang beberapa pimpinan. Dalam teknisnya, pengaturan tata letak tempat duduk tersebut dilaksanakan oleh petugas protokoler. Tentu, petugas protokol harus memiliki pedoman dalam melaksanakan pengaturan tata tempat duduk bagi para pejabat di lingkungan setempat. Acuan yang dimaksud adalah Undang Undang No. 9 tahun 2010 tentang Keprotokolan yang di dalam salah satu poin yang dituliskan membahas terkait dengan pengaturan tata letak tempat duduk bagi para pejabat yang memiliki jabatan dan didasarkan atas fungsi dan tugasnya. Tugas akhir ini membahas terkait dengan implementasi Undang Undang No. 9 tahun 2010 ini di dalam upacara wisuda di UGM. Secara tidak langsung implementasi tersebut berhasil dan mengarahkan petugas protokoler untuk bekerja sesuai dengan standar prosedur yang sudah ditetapkan sehingga agenda wisuda berjalan dengan lancar.

Graduation is a process in which the alumni got their degrees and rector as the leader of university declares and proclaims so. During the graduation ceremony, rector who is in the highest position of a university has a main role. Rector has a very vital role in a process of graduation ceremony. Beside, there are some rector�s assistants such as the vice rector and dean who assist the rector during the procession. In its development, the preseance is the key point that must be considered when there is an event which invite important officials. In technical, setting the preseance is implemented by a protocol officer. Basically, the protocol officer should have guidelines in implementing the seating arrangements for the officials in the local environment. The reference is in Law No. 9 of 2010 concerning protocol which one of the main points of written addresses associated with setting up the seating layout for officials who have positions and based on the functions and duties. This graduating paper describe the implementation of Law No. 9 year 2010 in a graduation ceremony at UGM. The implementation is successful with almost no errors and directs protocol officers to work in accordance with the standards procedures, so that the agenda of the graduation runs smoothly.
