RESISTENSI KAUM PETANI TERHADAP TUAN TANAH DALAM NOVEL FUZAI JINUSHI KARYA TAKIJI KOBAYASHI

Penelitian ini menggunakan obyek penelitian sebuah novel karya sastrawan Jepang Takiji Kobayashi yang berjudul Fuzai Jinushi (The Absentee Landlord) yang ditulis pada tahun 1930. Novel ini menceritakan perjuangan para petani penyewa lahan pertanian milik Kishino yang menuntut diturunkannya harga sewa tanah. Novel ini diilhami oleh peristiwa pemberontakan petani yang terjadi di Hokkaido pada tahun 1927 kepada seorang tuan tanah bernama Isono Susumu. Pemberontakan itu merupakan pemberontakan petani terbesar yang terjadi di Jepang pada masa itu. Dalam novel Fuzai Jinushi terdapat dua kelas sosial yang saling bertentangan. Penelitian ini meneliti bagaimana pertentangan yang terjadi diantara dua kelas sosial tersebut. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga meneliti tentang bagaimana resistensi yang dilakukan oleh kelas petani kepada tuan tanah dalam novel tersebut. Konsep konsep seperti kelas sosial, pertentangan kelas, perjuangan kelas, resistensi dan sebagainya banyak digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Oleh karena itu, pendekatan yang digunakan adalah pendekatan Marxisme. Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini yaitu bahwa pertentangan kelas yang terjadi antara kelas petani dan tuan tanahnya disebabkan adanya kesenjangan ekonomi yang tinggi di antara kedua kelas tersebut. Selain itu, pertentangan kelas juga disebabkan adanya eksploitasi yang dialami kelas petani serta perbedaan kepentingan antara kelas petani dan tuan tanah. Hasil penelitian selanjutnya yaitu bentuk resistensi yang dilakukan oleh kelas petani adalah resistensi terbuka berupa unjuk rasa. Resistensi terbuka dilakukan setelah menempuh jalan diplomasi dan negosiasi terlebih dahulu.

ABSTRACT This research uses a novel written by Japanese poet Takiji Kobayashi as a research objects. The novel entitled Fuzai Jinushi (The Absentee Landlord), was written in 1930. The novel tells about the struggle of the tenant farmers of an agricultural land owned by Kishino who demand to lowered the price of the rent fee. This novel was inspired by the events of peasant rebellions that occurred in Hokkaido in 1927 to a landowner named Isono Susumu. The rebellion was the largest peasant uprising in Japan at the time. In Fuzai Jinushi, there are two conflicting social classes. This research examines how was the antagonism that occur between these two social classes. This research also examines how was the resistance carried out by the peasant class to the landlord in the novel. Concepts such as social class, class warfare, class struggle, resistance and so on are used in this research because it examines the class struggle conducted against the peasant class more dominant class that his landlord. Therefore, the approach used in this study is the approach of Marxism. The results obtained from this research is that the class antagonism occurs between peasant and landlord classes is because of the high economic gap between two classes. In addition, class antagonism is also occured because of the exploitation of the peasant class and the difference of interests between peasant and the landlord class. Other result is the form of resistance carried out by the peasant class is an open resistance, in the form of demonstrations. Open resistance was carried after a series of diplomacy and negotiation carried first.
