2017 | Tesis | S2 Pengkajian Seni Pertunjukan dan Seni RupaTesis ini mengkaji kesenian Shalawat Angklung Eling Pati di Bantul, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Kesenian tersebut merupakan wujud dari eksistensi kesenian Sholawatan yang menggunakan instrumen Angklung. Fokus kajian tesis ini adalah bentuk kesenian Shalawat Angklung Eling Pati dan nilai-nilai estetika yang terkandung didalamnya. Penelitian tesis ini menggunakan metode observasi dan wawancara. Peneliti melakukan observasi terhadap praktik kesenian tersebut untuk menganalisis bentuk keseniannya. Selain itu, peneliti juga melakukan wawancara kebeberapa personil inti kesenian tersebut untuk memahami nilai-nilai yang ditanamkan pada keseniannya. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pertama, Shalawat Angklung Eling Pati merupakan salah satu dari penerus kesenian dalam tradisi Islam. Kedua, karya-karya pada kesenian Shalawat Angklung Eling Pati menggunakan beberapa karya dari Walisanga, yaitu ilir-ilir dan tembang macapat. Shalawat Angklung Eling Pati juga menggunakan lagu-lagu yang populer di kalangan masyarakat Bantul dengan lirik yang sama maupun berbeda menyesuaikan konteks dakwah yang dibawakan, seperti Neraka Suwarga yang memiliki melodi sama dengan lagu Rondo Kempling. Penambahan instrumen angklung dipilih karena dianggap efektif untuk menarik minat dan perhatian masyarakat. Ketiga, Melalui karya-karyanya, nilai-nilai Islam ditanamkan. Nilai-nilai tersebut kemudian disampaikan/didakwahkan secara efektif melalui kesenian Shalawat Angklung Eling Pati. Penyampaian dakwah menjadi efektif karena metodenya berbasis komunitas. Kesenian adalah bagian dari kebiasaan masyarakat. Dalam praktiknya, kesenian Shalawat Angklung Eling Pati dibawakan dengan menggunakan bahasa Jawa, dan sesekali diselingi dengan slengekan yang membuat pengunjung tertawa. Hasilnya, keseniannya (nilai estetikanya) dinikmati, dan nilai-nilai religinya tersampaikan.
This thesis studies the art performance of Shalawat Angklung Eling Pati in Bantul, Special Region of Yogyakarta. This art is an art performance of Shalawatan that uses Angklung, the indigenous music instrument of West Java. The focus of this study is the form of the art performance of Shalawat Angklung Eling Pati as wels as its esthetic values. This study was based on research methods of observation and interviews. Observations were conducted to see kinds of the art forms. In addition, to understand esthetic and religious values of the art performance, key persons were interviewed. The result of this study, first Shalawat Angklung Eling Pati is a one of successor heatrs art Islamic tradition. Second Shalawat Art performance were based on the several works of Walisanga, the 9th of Javanese Muslim saints, such as ilir-ilir and macapat. In addition, popular songs of Bantul community were sometimes used. Such kinds include Neraka Suwarga whose melody was similar to Rondo Kempling. Lyrics of those popular songs were sometimes sung just the same as their original, but sometimes changed. Such improvisation, together with the use of Angklung was believed to attract people’s attentions. Third, Islamic values are emphasized in the works of the art performance of Shalawat Angklung Eling Pati. Those values were delivered through the performance. The deliverance was effective because its method was community based. Art has been part of the community life. In practice, Shalawat Angklung Eling Pati were performed in Javanese and sometimes involved selengekan(jokes). Through such a way of practice, the art performance was well enjoyed, and its values were well delivered.
