Perbedaan Laju Filtrasi Ginjal antara Domba Ekor Gemuk dan Domba Ekor Tipis

Penelitian ini menggunakan enam domba ekor gemuk dan enam domba ekor tipis dengan umur rata-rata 11 bulan dan bobot rata-rata 19,5 kg. Ternak ditempatkan pada kandang metabolisme secara individu. Percobaan ini menggunakan desain rancangan percobaan independent sample t-test. Pakan yang diberikan adalah jerami kacang tanah. Penelitian dilakukan dalam dua periode yaitu periode adaptasi selama 10 hari dan periode koleksi 12 hari. Pada periode koleksi, pakan diberikan secara ad libitum selama 7 hari, kemudian dikurangi selama 3 hari berturut-turut 10 persen, 40 persen, 70 persen, dan kemudian ternak dipuasakan selama 5 hari. Koleksi urin dilakukan setiap hari pada koleksi ad libitum dan puasa, sedangkan darah diambil dua kali pada hari terakhir pemberian pakan secara ad libitum dan puasa. Sampel darah dan urin dianalisis kreatinin, allantoin, serta asam urat. Berdasarkan penelitian diketahui bahwa laju filtrasi ginjal menunjukkan tidak terdapat perbedaan yang nyata antara domba ekor gemuk dan domba ekor tipis baik pada tahap ad libitum (130,25 lebih kurang 17,31 l/d vs 136,46 lebih kurang 15,08 l/d) maupun tahap puasa (126,46 lebih kurang 16,42 l/d vs 129,54 lebih kurang 14,08 l/d). Tubular load dan reabsorbsi derivat purin pada saat ad libitum juga menunjukkan tidak berbeda nyata. Sementara itu reabsorbsi derivat purin cenderung meningkat pada saat dipuasakan, tetapi lebih tinggi domba ekor gemuk dibanding domba ekor tipis.
The aim of this study is to investigate the difference of glomerular filtration rate between fat tailed sheep and thin tailed sheep. Six male fat tailed sheeps and six male tailed sheeps whose average 11 months old and 19,5 kg of body weight average were used in this study. The animal were placed individually on metabolic cages. The animal was fed by peanut straw. This research was conducted in two periods which seperate 10 days of adaptation period and 12 days of collection period. At the collection periods, the feeding level was maintained constant ad libitumly for a week then reduce 10 percent, 40 percent, 70 percent, respectively and followed by fasted period for 5 days. Urine was collected daily during the ad libitum and fasted. Blood samples were taken on the last day of ad libitum period and fasted. Blood and urine samples were then analyzed the chemical contents such as creatinine, allantoin, and uric acid. The data were analyzed using independent sample t-test design. Glomerular filtration rates were not significantly different between fat tailed sheep and thin tailed sheep both of ad libitum period (130,25 plus minus 17,31 l/d vs 136,46 plus minus 15,08 l/d) and fasted period (126,46 plus minus 16,42 l/d vs 129,54 plus minus 14,08 l/d). Tubular load and reabsorption levels in ad libitum period were not significantly different. Purine derivatives reabsorption tend to increase in fasted phase, but in case greater in fat tailed sheep than thin tailed sheep.
