INTISARI Demam berdarah merupakan suatu penyakit yang disebabkan oleh virus Dengue. Penyakit tersebut dapat menyebabkan kesakitan dan kematian pada penderitanya. Demam berdarah ditularkan oleh vektor Aedes aegypti. Insect Growth Regulator metophrene dan Bacillus thuringiensis var. israelensis merupakan kandidat yang dapat digunakan untuk mengendalikan populasi vektor. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mempelajari toksisitas kombinasi metophrene dan B. thuringiensis var. israelensis. Penelitian dilakukan pada larva Ae. aegypti instar ke-2. Konsentrasi metophrene dan B. thuringiensis var. israelensis yang digunakan adalah 0.05 gr/L and 0.002 ml/L. Kedua insektisida tersebut dapat menyebabkan abnormalitas pada pertumbuhan larva dan pupa Ae. aegypti serta menyebabkan kematian yang lebih cepat. Kombinasi metophrene dan B. thuringiensis var. israelensis memiliki efek aditif dalam mengendalikan pertumbuhan larva Ae. aegypti.

ABSTRACT Dengue Haemorragic Fever (DHF) is a desease caused by Dengue virus, that causes sickness and mortality. It is transmitted by vector Aedes aegypti. Insect Growth Regulator metophrene and Bacillus thuringiensis var. israelensis are the candidates to controll the vector population. They have different mode of actions and are potential for controlling Ae.aegypti. The aim of this research was to determine the toxicity of a combination between metophrene and B. thuringiensis var. israelensis. The toxicity of metophrene and B.thuringiensis var. israelensis was examined on the 2nd instar of the Ae.aegypti. The tested concentrations of metophrene and B. thuringiensis var. israelensis in a combination were 0.05 gr/L and 0.002 ml/L, respectively. These insecticides caused abnormal growth of Ae. aegypti larvae leading to mortality. Combination of metophrene and B. thuringiensis var. israelensis to Ae. aegypti larvae resulted in an additive effect.
