SETTING FISIK RUANG TERBUKA BERMAIN ANAK (Studi Kasus : Permukiman Tepi Sungai Kelayan, Banjarmasin)

Bermain merupakan sebuah kebutuhan dasar anak-anak. Namun pada kenyataannya ruang bermain bagi anak yang berada di permukiman padat penduduk di tepian sungai tidak tersedia. Pertanyaan yang yang muncul adalah bagaimana respon anak terhadap ruang bemain mereka. Penelitian ini membahas tentang setting fisik ruang bermain anak tepian sungai melalui pendekatan mengenai fisik ruang bermain dan aktivitas yang terjadi pada ruang bermain. Penelitian ini juga mencoba untuk memberikan gambaran kondisi ruang terbuka dan semi terbuka bermain anak di Permukiman Tepi Sungai Kelayan, baik yang berada di tepian sungai maupun yang berada di tengah permukiman. Disini juga dipaparkan keterkaitan antara bentuk ruang dan jenis permainan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa jenis ruang terbuka bermain anak mempengaruhi karateristik dari pengguna ruang bermain maupun karakteristik jenis permainannya. Walaupun permukiman berada di tepian sungai, ruang terbuka yang berada di tengah permukiman dan mengarah ke daratan lebih dipilih anak dalam bermain.

Playing is one of the basic needs for children. But in fact for children that live in densely populated areas at the riverbank there is no playroom available. The question that arises is how children react to their playroom. This research discusses about the physical settingof the playroom of children who live at the riverbank by looking at the physical space of the playroom and the activities that happen in those playrooms. This research also aims to show the conditions of an open playroom and a semi open playroom of the children at Permukiman Tepi Sungai Kelayan, those which are at the riverbank as well as those which are in the middle of the settlement. This research will also show the linkage between the shape of the room and the kind of playing that occurs. Based on the result of this research it can be concluded that the shape of the open playroom influences the characteristics of the use of the playroom and also of the kind of pleying that occurs here. Eventhough this settlement is situated at the riverbank, the open playroom that is situated in the middle of the settlement and faces to the West is preffered by playing children.
