ANALISIS PROYEK BERBASIS PROJECT MANAGEMENT INSTITUTE FRAMEWORK: Studi Kasus Pada PT. XYZ

Pelaksanaan suatu proyek dapat mempengaruhi strategi bisnis untuk mencapai tujuan jangka panjang. Suatu proyek akan menghasilkan suatu barang atau jasa yang akan digunakan dalam aktivitas bisnis dan benefitnya dapat digunakan sebagai salah satu formula evolusi strategi bisnis. PT. XYZ merupakan salah satu perusahaan yang bergerak dalam bidang Main Contractor dan Supplies. Dalam proses bisnisnya, PT. XYZ melakukan pekerjaan kontruksi dan memenuhi kebutuhan barang supplies dari salah satu BUMN di Indonesia. Manajemen Proyek yang baik sangat diperlukan dalam aktivitas bisnis PT. XYZ karena dalam proyek yang dijalankan tidak memungkinkan adanya Change Request dan suatu Change Request akan dianggap sebagai proyek baru. Sebagai awal penelitian dilakukan penyaringan terhadap beberapa proyek dan dikategorikan proyek berdasarkan anggaran dan durasi. Kemudian diperoleh 10 proyek yang memiliki kategori yang sama. Penelitian secara kuantitatif berbasis pada kerangka kerja Project Management Insitute(PMI) dilakukan terhadap kesepuluh proyek PT. XYZ yang memiliki ciri-ciri yang sama. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa PT. XYZ tidak melakukan keseluruhan aktivitas dalam PMI Framework dan PT. XYZ memiliki standar dalam melakukan proyek yang disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan aktivitas bisnisnya. Pada tahap awal proyek, PT. XYZ sebaiknya membuat Work Breakdown Structure untuk pekerjaan yang lebih terstruktur. Dalam hal manajemen resiko, PT. XYZ sebaiknya menerapkan manajemen resiko yang baik supaya tidak mempengaruhi pelaksanaan proyek. Kemudian untuk meningkatkan kinerja eksekusi proyek, PT. XYZ perlu menciptakan lingkungan kerjasama yang kondusif dalam pelaksanaan proyek.

The implementation of a project can influence business strategy to achieve long-term goals. A project will produce a good thing or service that will be used in business activity and it brings beneficial which can be used as a formula evolution of business strategies. PT.XYZ is a company which is engaged in the Main Contractor and Supplier.In the aim of its business, PT.XYZ do some construction work and supplies goods to fulfill the needs of Indonesia state owned enterprises. A good Project Management is needed in the business activities of PT.XYZ because change request can not be allowed when the project is on running. So, later it also will be considered as a new project. The first initial study conducted on several projects and it is categorized based on the budget and the duration of the project itself. Then, it obtained ten projects which have the same categories. The quantitative research based on the framework of the Project Management Institute (PMI) was done for ten company�s project which have the same characteristics. The results showed that PT.XYZ does not do the whole activites in PMI Framework and this company has a standard while do some projects which related with their business activities. In the early stages of the project, PT.XYZ should make the Work Breakdown Structure to work more structured. In terms of risk management, PT.XYZ should implement a good risk management so It will not affect to the implementation of the project. Later on, to improve project execution performance, PT.XYZ needs to create an environment conducive while the project started.
