Indonesian natural rubber is one of the most important trading commodities which provides a numerous benefit such as contribution towards national income, raw material for various industry, and labor absorption. This research aims to determine the competitiveness of Indonesian natural rubber export in both international and ASEAN market and later investigate the determinant factor affecting Indonesian natural rubber export. The methods in this research are revealed comparative advantage (RCA); constant market share (CMS); and multiple linear regression using ordinary least squares (OLS). The selected product are HS 4001 (natural rubber, balata, gutta-percha, guayule, chicle and similar natural gums, in primary forms or in plates, sheets or strip) and HS 40 (rubber and articles thereof). Period of investigation are from 1981 to 2013 for both RCA and OLS methods and from 2009 to 2013 for CMS method. Based on RCA analysis, Indonesia is the strongest exporter among its competitors in both international and ASEAN market. Based on CMS analysis, Indonesia standard growth for natural rubber export remain below world¢ï¿½ï¿½s standard growth, roduct composition effect has a positive value in each market (USA, China, and Japan), product distribution effect in USA and Japan are negative, and competitiveness effect has a negative value only in China market. Significant factors affecting Indonesian natural rubber export are exchange rate (±=1%), yields of Indonesian natural rubber (±=10%), and world rubber price (±=1%).
