KARAKTERISTIK DAN KUALITAS SEMEN SAPI PERANAKAN ONGOLE (PO) DI BALAI INSEMINASI BUATATAN ( BIB ) UNGARAN

Pengetahuan tentang karakteristik dan dan kualitas semen sapi Peranakan Ongole sangat diperlukan untuk menunjang keberhasilan program Inseminasi Buatan. Sebanyak 8 ekor sapi Peranakan Ongole yang ada di BIB Ungaran di gunakan dalam penelitian ini, Kode sapi Peranakan Ongole tersebut adalah sebagai berikut : 20902, 20904, 20905, 20906, 20907, 21008, 21009, 21110. Sapi Peranakan Ongole di BIB ungaran di koleksi semennya 2 kali dalam seminggu pada hari senin dan kamis, setelah itu di evaluasi semennya di laboratorium, semen di evaluasi secara makroskopis dan mikroskopis, secara makroskopis meliputi warna, konsistensi, pH dan volume. Secara mikroskopis meliputi konsentrasi, moyilitas, abnormalitas, dan presentase spermatozoa hidup. Hasil dari rata-rata pemeriksaaan menunjukan hasil, volume = 6,54 ± 1,44 ml, warnanya = krem, gerakan massanya = ++, konsistensinya = kental, konsentrasinya = 1491,15 ± 306,07 x 10 juta/ ml, motolitas progresif = 51 %, pH = 6,39 ± 0,17.

Knowledge of the characteristics and quality of semen and ongole breed of cattle semen quality is indispensable for the succes of artifical insemination programs. A total of 8 Ongole breed cows that exist in the AIC Ungaran used in this study. The ongole breed of cattle code is as follows : 20902, 20904, 20905, 20906, 20907, 21008, 21009, 21110. Ongole breed cows in AIC Ungaran in semen collection 2 times a week on Monday and Thursday, after that in the evaluation of the semen in the laboratory, semen was evaluation macroscopic and microscopic, macroscopic include color, consistency, pH and volume. Microscopic includes concentration, motility, abnormalities, and percentage of live spermatozoa. The results of the examination showed average results, volume = 6.54 ± 1.44 ml, color = beige, mass movements = + +, consistency = viscous, concentration = 1491.15 ± 306.07 x 10 million/ ml, progressive motolity = 51%, pH = 6.39 ± 0.17.
