PERKEMBANGAN KARAKTERISTIK TAJUK POHON DOMINAN JATI PLUS PERHUTANI ASAL STEK PUCUK PADA UMUR 3 SAMPAI 7 TAHUN DI KPH SARADAN

Perubahan bentuk dan ukuran tajuk memiliki perbedaan pada tiap umur. Perbedaan karakteristik tiap umur dapat menggambarkan potensi pertumbuhan dan perkembangan pohon. Dalam pengamatan mengenai tajuk pohon salah satu variabel yang penting untuk diamati adalah volume tajuk. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perkembangan karakteristik tajuk dan menentukan volume tajuk pohon dominan Jati Plus Perhutani asal stek pucuk di KPH Saradan. Penelitian dilakukan pada petak yang dipilih berdasarkan kriteria pertumbuhan baik. Sampel pohon merupakan 30 pohon dominan dari setiap petak yang terpilih. Penentuan volume tajuk terkena cahaya dihitung melalui metode kalkulus dengan mengintegrasikan simulasi model tajuk yang berbeda. Volume tajuk terkena cahaya juga dihitung dengan metode geometri paraboloid sebagai referensi. Model tajuk terbaik dipilih berdasarkan selisih terkecil perbandingan antara hasil penentuan metode kalkulus dan geometri. Model penduga dipilih berdasarkan Standard Error of the Estimate terkecil atau paling mendekati antara volume tajuk geometri dengan dua model tajuk yang direkomendasikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa diameter tajuk terus berkembang walaupun pada umur 5 tahun sempat terjadi penurunan diameter tajuk namun pada umur 6 dan 7 tahun kembali mengalami kenaikan dengan index ketebalan tajuk sebesar 0,578; 0,579; 0,523; 0,567; 0,685 berturut-turut dari umur 3 sampai 7 tahun. Model tajuk terbaik dengan metode kalkulus adalah RI=(radius tajuk/lo pangkat 0.5)*hl pangkat 0.5, dimana menghasilkan taksiran volume tajuk terkena cahaya sebesar 10,521 m3; 25,408 m3; 27,318 m3; 31,923 m3; dan 34,196 m3 berurutan dari umur 3 sampai 7 tahun.

In each age of the tree, the shape changes and crowns size are different. The characteristic diversity in each age of the tree can describes the trees potential growth and development. In trees crown observation, one of the many important variables to be observed is the volume of the crown. This research means to find the crowns characteristics and to determines the crown of the dominant Perhutani Teak Plus trees volume in KPH Saradan. This research was conducted in a selected compartment that based on a good growth criteria. The selected samples were 30 dominant trees, selected from each compartment. Crowns with light exposure volume was determined with light exposure and calculated with mathematical method that integrated the models simulation of some different crowns. The crowns volume with light exposure was also calculated with paraboloid geometrical method as reference. The best crowns model was selected based on the smallest difference between the results of the mathematical method and the geometrical method. Estimated model was selected based on the smallest Standard Error of the Estimate or the nearest from it between the geometrical crowns volume with the two recommendation crowns models. The result of this research showed that the crowns diameter continuously growing although in the age of 5, the crown diameter decreased. But, in the age of 6 and 7, the crowns diameter increased again with the index of crown thickness: 0.578; 0.579; 0.523; 0.567; 0.685 in series from the age of 3 to 7. The best tree crowns model based on mathematical method was RI=(crown radius/lo 0.5)*hl pangkat 0.5 hl0.5 which produces estimated crowns volume that light exposed in the amount of 10.521 m3; 25.408 m3; 27.318 m3; 31.923 m3; and 34.196 m3 in series from the age of 3 to 7.
