Kampung Seks : Prostitusi Pasar Kembang sebagai Subkultur Seksual

INTISARI Secara historis, wilayah Sosrowijayan Kulon dikenal sebagai tempat praktik prostitusi kurang lebih sejak 125 tahun yang lalu. Terbentuknya kompleks prostitusi pasar kembang tak seperti kompleks prostitusi di kota-kota lain pada umumnya. Masyarakat melalui proses akulturasi budaya terlebih dahulu ketika praktik ini muncul dan masuk ke dalam rumah-rumah warga Sosrowijayan Kulon hingga diterima warga setempat sampai sekarang. Ada nilai-nilai budaya yang tinggal dan ada pula nilai-nilai budaya baru yang hadir dari proses itu. Lahir dari usaha kaum kolonial memenuhi kebutuhan seksnya dengan meminjam satu dua rumah warga kemudian merembet pada kebutuhan seksual si pekerja bangunan stasiun tugu hingga akhirnya melibatkan sebagian besar rumah warga. Fenomena ini merupakan cerminan pembacaan peluang masyarakat akan potensi ekonomi yang ada. Tentu proses ini tak lepas dari peran berbagai aktor yang lihai memainkan tangan-tangan tak terlihatnya di era liberal kapitalis ini. Peneliti kemudian menamai Kampung Sosrowijayan ini sebagai kampung seks dengan subkultur seksual yang menyertainya. Masyarakat setempat pun tak terima kampung mereka disebut sebagai lokalisasi karena struktur masyarakat mereka masih sama dengan struktur masyarakat kampung pada umumnya. Hanya kegiatan ekonominya saja yang berbeda sehingga secara tak langsung turut merubah praktik-praktik hubungan sosiokultural yang ada. Dengan kekuatannya ia telah mampu menciptakan corak budayanya sendiri di tengah budaya masyarakat dominan yang ada. Ia sulap pemikiran Marx yang coba mendobrak nilai-nilai materialis ke dalam fondasi bangunan sebuah budaya yang unik. Dengan prinsip bahwa budaya dikembangkan oleh masyarakat berdasar materi (benda) yang dimiliki. Marvin Harris menambahkan unsur struktur di antara dua unsur pembentuk sejarah milik Marx, yakni basis dan superstruktur dalam rangka membingkai peradaban materialis dengan kerangka produksi dan reproduksi budaya. Ia gunakan konsepnya itu untuk menjelaskan bagaimana suatu budaya bisa terproduksi dan mempertahankan diri. Dengan statusnya sebagai kampung seks ia balut segala nilai-nilai budaya seksualitas yang hidup di dalamnya. Untuk membuktikan kelahiran budaya baru ini, peneliti kemudian mengadopsi formula Harris untuk mengkerangkai terbentuknya sebuah produk budaya baru bernama sexual subculture (subkultur seksual) yang hidup dalam Kampung Seks di Pasar Kembang.

Historically, Sosrowijayan Kulon area is known as prostitution practical area more less 125 years ago. The formation of Pasar Kembang prostitution complex is not the same as any other prostitution complex in other cities. Through cultural acculturation process, this practice appears and enters to each and every house of Sosrowijayan Kulon people until it has been accepted by the local people. There are some cultural values which are left behind and there are some new values that come out of the process. Coming out of the colonial�s sex needs by using local people�s houses which then spreading out to the sexual needs of tugu station labors, eventually, this activity involves most of local people�s houses. This phenomenon is the way society reflects on unique opportunity to play with invisible hands in this liberal capitalist era. The researcher then calls Sosrowijayan area as the village of sex regarding the sexual subculture that comes with it. The local people initially rejected the way others call their area as localization since their structure of society is still exactly the same as the other village in general. Their economic activity is indeed different. Therefore, indirectly, it changes the sociocultural relationship practices. By its power, it has been able to create its own culture inside the existing dominant society. It conjures Marx�s thought about breaking in the materialistic values to the building foundation of unique culture. It is based on the principle thing that culture is developed inside the society due to the material thing possessed. Marvin Harris also adds structural elements between two forming-history elements owned by Marx, which are the base and the superstructure in framing the materialistic civilization using cultural production and reproduction. He uses the concept to explain how certain culture is able to be produced and maintained. By its status as the village of sex, it covers every single sexual cultural value that grows within it. To prove this new cultural birth, the researcher adopts Harris� formula to frame the form of new cultural product named sexual subculture that lives within the village of sex in Pasar Kembang.
