Menurut Badan Pusat Statistik (2016) jumlah penduduk mencapai 254,9 juta dan penduduknya tersebar di berbagai daerah di seluruh Indonesia. Kondisi menunjukkan bahwa transportasi masih merupakan kebutuhan yang mendesak, terutama pada sektor angkutan umum khususnya pada transportasi bus. Pembangunan website ini dilatar belakangi oleh informasi mengenai lokasi pemberhentian dan jalur keberangkatan bus hanya tersedia secara offline dan masih menggunakan cara-cara manual. Dalam usaha memperlancar peningkatan informasi rute dan jalur bus di Indonesia, pemanfaatan teknologi informasi berbasis web pada semua lapisan masyarakat terus dilakukan dan dikembangkan. Bagian-bagian informasi tersebut diantanra informasi bus, jadwal keberankatan dan informasi jalur bus di Indonesia. Dari penjelasan tersebut dapat di ambil kesimpulan bahwa jalur bus di Indonesia membutuhkan sistem yang dapat menangani masalah informasi keberangkatan dan informasi jalur bus oleh karena itu perlu dibuat Website Layanan Jalur Dan Jadwal Bus. Pada perancangan website tersebut penulis menggunakan bahasa pemrograman PHP dengan framework Laravel, javascript, google maps dan basis data MySQL.
