PENGARUH PENAMBAHAN SINTESIS HIDROKSIAPATIT SERBUK TULANG AYAM TERHADAP KEKUATAN TRANSVERSAL PLAT GIGI TIRUAN RESIN AKRILIK POLIMERISASI PANAS

Salah satu bahan kedokteran gigi yang dapat digunakan untuk membuat basis gigi tiruan adalah resin akrilik polimerisasi panas. Basis gigi tiruan resin akrilik harus memiliki kekuatan yang cukup dan dapat menahan tekanan saat pengunyahan. Uji kekuatan transversal menggambarkan tekanan pengunyahan yang diterima oleh basis gigi tiruan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji adanya pengaruh penambahan sintesis hidroksiapatit serbuk tulang ayam terhadap kekuatan transversal resin akrilik polimerisasi panas. Subjek penelitian berupa 24 plat resin akrilik polimerisasi panas berukuran 65x10x2,5 mm, dibagi dalam 4 kelompok. Kelompok I tanpa penambahan sintesis hidroksiapati tserbuk tulang ayam, kelompok II ditambah sintesis hidroksiapatit serbuk tulang ayam 2 %, kelompok III ditambah sintesis hidroksiapatit serbuk tulang ayam 5%, dan kelompok IV ditambah sintesis hidroksiapatit serbuk tulang ayam 8%. Kekuatan transversal diukur menggunakan Universal Testing Machine. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji ANAVA satu jalur dilanjutkan dengan uji Post Hoc LSD dengan tingkat kepercayaan 95%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan nilai kekuatan yang bermakna (p<0,05) antara kelompok I dengan kelompok III maupun IV. Tidak terdapat perbedaan yang bermakna (p>0,05) antara kelompok I dengan kelompok II. Kesimpulan penelitian adalah penambahan sintesis hidroksiapatit serbuk tulang ayam tidak meningkatkan kekuatan transversal plat gigi tiruan resin akrilik polimerisasi panas.

Heat-cured acrylic resin is one of dental materials that can be used to manufacture the denture base. Acrylic resin denture base should have adequate strength and able to withstand the masticatory pressure. Transverse strength test represents the masticatory pressure applied to denture base. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of addition hydroxyapatite synthesized from chicken bone powder on the trasverse strength of heat-cured acrylic resin denture base. The subject of the study consisted of 24 plates of size 65x10x2.5 mm heat cured acrylic resin. They were divided into 4 groups. Group I without additionofhydroxyapatite synthesized, group II with addition hydroxyapatite synthesized 2%, group III with addition hydroxyapatite synthesized 5%, group IV with addition hydroxyapatite synthesized 8%. Transverse strength was measured using Universal Testing Machine. The data was analyzed using one-way ANOVA test and LSD’s post hoc test with confidence interval of 95 % The study showed a significant difference (p<0.05) in transverse strength value between group I compared to group III and IV. There was no significant difference (p>0.05) between group I compared to group II. The conclusion of this study is the addition of hydroxyapatite synthesized from chicken bone powder can not increased the transverse strength of heat-cured acrylic resin.
