ESTIMASI NILAI RIPITABILITAS BOBOT LAHIR DAN BOBOT SAPIH KAMBING BOERKA (F1) DI LOKA PENELITIAN KAMBING POTONG SEI PUTIH, DELI SERDANG

Perbaikan mutu genetik ternak dapat dilakukan melalui seleksi berdasarkan nilai ripitabilitas. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menghitung nilai pengulangan (ripitabilitas) dari bobot lahir dan bobot sapih kambing Boerka (F1) di Loka Penelitian Kambing Potong Sei Putih, Deli Serdang. Materi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah catatan produksi kambing Boerka (F1) dengan variabel yang diamati adalah bobot lahir dan bobot sapih kambing Boerka kelahiran tahun 2014 dan tahun 2015. Data yang diperoleh dikoreksi berdasarkan jenis kelamin, tipe kelahiran, dan umur induk kemudian dianalisis menggunakan metode korelasi antar kelas (dua kelompok data). Pengambilan data dilakukan pada bulan Februari 2016 dan analisis data dilakukan pada bulan Maret sampai Juni 2016. Estimasi ripitabilitas bobot lahir menggunakan 52 data, sedangkan estimasi ripitabilitas bobot sapih menggunakan 20 data. Hasil estimasi ripitabilitas bobot lahir dan bobot sapih berturut-turut yaitu 0,39 ± 0,12 dan 0,18 ± 0,22. Hasil estimasi ripitabilitas bobot lahir termasuk dalam kategori tinggi, sedangkan hasil estimasi ripitabilitas bobot sapih termasuk dalam kategori sedang.

Genetic quality of livestock can be improved by selection according to repeatability value. The aim of this study was to estimate the repeatability value of birth weight and weaning weight of Boerka (F1) goat in Loka Penelitian Kambing Potong Sei Putih, Deli Serdang. The material used in this research was the production records of Boerka (F1) goat. Variables observed in this research were birth weight and weaning weight of Boerka goat, born on 2014 and 2015. The data were corrected by sex, type of birth, and age of dams, and then analyzed by interclass correlation method (two groups of data). The data were collected on February 2016 and were analyzed on March to June 2016. Repeatability estimation of birth weight used 52 goatlings, while the weaning weight used 20 goatlings. Repeatability value of birth weight using interclass correlation method was 0,39 ± 0,12, while the repeatability value of weaning weight using interclass correlation method was 0,18 ± 0,22. It’s concluded that repeatability value of birth weight is in high category. Though, the repeatability value of weaning weight is in middle category.
