PLTA Cirata merupakan PLTA yang memiliki kapasitas 8x126 MW, dan setiap 8000 jam dilakukan overhaoul. Overhaul dilakukan pengujian insulation resistance dan polarisation index. Insulation resistance dan polarisation index merupakan parameter pengujian pada generator untuk menentukan kemampuan isolasi dari generator tersebut. Peralatan yang digunakan untuk pengujian ini disebut Insulation Tester. Nilai hambatan yang rendah yaitu kurang dari 17,5 MΩ menunjukkan kondisi stator pada waktu pengukuran dalam keadaan kurang bagus adapun polarisation index kurang dari 2.0 menunjukkan generator dalam keadaan basah atau kotor. Pada proyek akhir ini dibahas tentang analisis pengukuran tahanan isolasi dan pemeliharaan stator annual inspection generator unit 8 di PLTA Cirata untuk megetahui keadaan stator sebelum dan sesudah di inspeksi layak beroperasi atau tidak.

The equipment used for this test is called Insulation Tester . Low resistance value is less than 17.5 MΩ shows stator condition at the time of measurement in less good state while polarisation index less than 2.0 indicates a generator in case of wet or dirty . At the end of the project is discussed about insulation resistance measurement analysis and maintenance of the generator stator annual inspection unit 8 in Cirata for knowing state stator before and after the inspection feasible to operate or not .
