LUAS PENGUNGKAPAN, KONSENTRASI KEPEMILIKAN, DIVERSIFIKASI BISNIS DAN BIAYA MODAL EKUITAS

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menguji pengaruh luas pengungkapan, konsentrasi kepemilikan serta diversifikasi bisnis perusahaan di Indonesia terhadap biaya modal ekuitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa luas pengungkapan dan konsentrasi kepemilikan berpengaruh dalam menurunkan biaya modal ekuitas. Hasil berbeda ditunjukkan pada pengujian diversifikasi bisnis justru meningkatkan biaya modal ekuitas. Diversifikasi bisnis diukur berdasar Indeks Herfindahl dan jumlah segmen bisnis keduanya memberikan hasil yang sama yaitu berpengaruh positif terhadap biaya modal ekuitas. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan pengungkapan wajib dan sukarela memberikan pengaruh untuk menurunkan biaya modal ekuitas, meskipun pengungkapan wajib memiliki pengaruh yang lebih besar dibanding pengungkapan sukarela

The purpose of this study was to test the effect of disclosure, ownership concentration and diversification of the company's business in Indonesia towards the cost of equity capital. The results showed that the disclosure and the concentration of ownership has effect in lowering the cost of equity capital. The different results are shown in business diversification testing actually increases the cost of equity capital. Business diversification measured by the Herfindahl Index and the number of business segments, both give the same result, that is a positive influence on the cost of equity capital. The results also indicate mandatory and voluntary disclosure which gives effect to lower the cost of equity capital, even though the mandatory disclosure have a greater influence than the voluntary disclosure.
