BACKEND AS A SERVICES (BAAS) DALAM PENGEMBANGAN APLIKASI MESIN-KE-MESIN (M2M) APLIKASI MOBILE

Backend as a Services (BaaS) merupakan salah satu kategori layanan cloud computing yang disediakan oleh sebuah perusahaan untuk memudahkan para pengembang aplikasi mobile dalam mendirikan, menggunakan dan mengoperasikan backend cloud untuk aplikasi yang dikembangkan. BaaS membantu developer dengan cara menghubungkan aplikasi yang mereka buat ke backend cloud storage serta fitur-fitur seperti pengelolaan pengguna, push notification dan integrasi dengan layanan jejaring sosial. Layanan tersebut pada umumnya disediakan melalui dukungan Software Development Kits (SDK) dan Application Programming Interface (API). Faktor-faktor yang biasanya menjadi alasan beberapa organisasi mengimplementasikan BaaS yang berbasis cloud-based yaitu penyebaran yang lebih cepat, kinerja aplikasi lebih cepat, perbaikan kualitas layanan, TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) yang lebih rendah, lebih dapat diandalkan, kepuasan pelanggan yang lebih tinggi, margin yang lebih tinggi. Selain itu, motivasi utama mengadopsi BaaS karena mudah untuk dipahami, sehingga perusahaan dapat menciptakan nilai lebih dengan hanya berfokus pada pengembangan aplikasi frontend. M2M, Machine to Machine (M2M) merupakan teknologi yang memungkinkan kedua sistem nirkabel dan kabel untuk berkomunikasi dengan perangkat lain yang mempunyai kemampuan sama. M2M menggunakan perangkat (seperti sensor atau alat pengukur) untuk menangkap suatu peristiwa (seperti suhu, tingkat persediaan, dan lain-lain) melalui jaringan (nirkabel, kabel atau keduanya) ke salah satu aplikasi, selanjutnya akan diterjemahkan menjadi informasi yang bermakna. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah mempermudah developer untuk mengembangkan sistem BaaS yang dapat diintegrasikan dengan jaringan M2M sehingga data yang dibutuhkan dapat diakses melalui aplikasi mobile, dan sistem BaaS ini sangat efisien dalam membantu developer untuk menghemat biaya dan waktu pengerjaan.

Backend as a Services (BaaS) is one category of cloud computing services provided by a company to facilitate mobile application developers in setting up , using and operating a cloud backend for the applications developed . Baas assist developers by connecting applications created to backend cloud storage and features such as user management , push notifications , and integration with social networking services . Such services are generally provided through the support of Software Development Kits (SDK) and Application Programming Interface (API). The advantages of cloud-based BaaS are the deployment more faster than before, faster application performance, improved quality of service, TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) more lower, more reliable, higher customer satisfaction, higher margins. In addition, the main motivation for adopting Baas easy to understand, so that companies can create more value by focusing only on the development of the frontend application . M2M, Machine to Machine (M2M) is a technology that enables both wireless and wired systems to communicate with other devices that have similar capabilities. M2M uses a device (such as sensors or gauges) to capture an event (such as temperature, inventory levels, etc.) over a network (wireless, wired, or both) to an application, then be translated into meaningful information. The results of this study is to facilitate developers to develop BaaS system that can be integrated with M2M network so that the required data can be accessed in mobile applications, and BaaS system is very efficient in helping developers to reduce TCO and development time.
