KEGAGALAN PENDIDIKAN PERTANIAN DI SMK AGRO (Mengkritisi Metode Pendisiplinan di Sekolah)

Tesis ini menjelaskan praktik pendidikan di SMK Pertanian Agro (bukan nama asli sekolah) dalam kaitannya tentang pembentukan generasi entrepreneur di sekolah. SMK Agro adalah sebuah SMK yang menyelenggarakan program keahlian agribisnis dan agroteknologi dengan kompetensi keahlian tanaman pangan dan holtikultura yang ada di Desa Sukamakmur (bukan nama desa sebenarnya) di salah satu kabupaten di Jawa Tengah. Penelitian dilakukan dari awal hingga akhir tahun 2015 dengan metode pengambilan data yang umum seperti wawancara dan pengamatan serta studi pustaka. Dengan meminjam konsep entrepreneur dan pendisiplinan tubuh yang digagas Foucault saya mengkaji bagaimana anak-anak didik didisiplinkan melalui berbagai macam teknik. Internalisasi ideologi entrepreneurship di sekolah pertanian dalam temuan saya telah mengingkari konsep SMK pertanian itu sendiri karena harapan akan adanya regenerasi petani melalui proses pendidikan atau minimal peningkatan minat generasi muda untuk bertani tidak terjadi. Konsep manusia entrepreneur dan pendisiplinan digunakan untuk mendalami dan membongkar proses pembentukan karakter yang berlangsung di SMK ini. Dengan menggunakan dua konsep ini dapat diketahui bahwa Kegiatan di sekolah justru menghasilkan generasi yang berorientasi pada bisnis. Internalisasi karakter-karakter yang berlangsung melalui pembelajaran di kelas, praktikum di kebun, hingga kegiatan ekstrakurikuler telah membentuk subjek-subjek yang santun, patuh, disiplin, berjiwa kompetitif, religius, sekaligus individualistis. Karakter-karakter tersebut bertolakbelakang dengan karakter petani, sehingga menyebabkan anak-anak petani yang sekolah di SMK Agro tidak memiliki imajinasi menjadi petani dan lebih memilih ingin menjadi pengusaha.

This thesis describes the practice of SMK Pertanian Agro (pseudoname) in relation on the establishment generation of entrepreneurs in the school. SMK Agro is a vocational school that organizes agribusiness and agro technology program with expertise competence food crops and horticulture in the village Sukamakmur at Central Java. The study was conducted from the beginning to the end of 2015 with a common data collection methods such as interviews and observations and literature study. By borrowing the concept of homo economicus was initiated and governmentality by Foucault I examine how children are disciplined through a variety of techniques. Internalization ideology of entrepreneurship in the school of agriculture in my findings has been to deny the concept of vocational agriculture itself as hope for the next generation of farmers through education or minimal increase in interest in the younger generation to farm does not occur. Concept of entrepreneur and governmentality used to investigate and dismantle the process of the formation of character that took place in this vocational school. By using these two concepts can be seen that the activities in the school would produce a generation of business-oriented. Internalization of subject characters goes through the learning in the classroom, field work in the garden, to the extracurricular activities have formed the subjects mannered, obedient, disciplined, competitive spirit, religious, as well as individualistic. These characters opposite of the character of traditional farmers, causing the children of farmers that school at SMK Agro do not have the imagination to be a farmer and prefer to want to be an entrepreneur.
