LAPORAN TUGAS AKHIR IDENTIFIKASI PENANGANAN BAHAN PT. AEROFOOD ACS MENGGUNAKAN KETETAPAN THE COLLEGE INDUSTRY COUNCIL ON MATERIAL HANDLING EDUCATION (CICMHE)

2016 | Tugas Akhir | D3 AGROINDUSTRI SVPT. Aerofood ACS adalah industri flight catering yang menyediakan jasa makanan bagi penumpang pesawat Garuda. Menu yang disediakan terdiri dari meals dan snacks. Terdapat berupa aturan menu yang berupa cycle menu atau pergantian menu sebanyak 5 cycle yang dimulai pada tanggal 1 setiap bulan dan berganti setiap 3 hari sekali. Identifikasi penanganan bahan dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan penanganan bahan berdasarkan ketetapan The College Industry Council on Material Handling Education (CICMHE) dan memberikan masukan kepada PT. Aerofood ACS Yogyakarta. Penanganan bahan merupakan kegiatan pemindahan bahan berupa mengangkat, menurunkan, mendorong, menarik, loading dan unloading. Kegiatan pemindahan perlu diperhatikan supaya barang yang dipindah tidak mengalami kerusakan dan kecelakaan. Peralatan penanganan bahan dipilih berdasarkan jarak perpindahan dan karakteristik bahan. Bahan dibedakan berdasarkan kategori high risks, medium risks dan low risks. Produk high risks seperti daging dan ikan berbeda perlakuannya dengan produk medium risks seperti sayuran dan low risks seperti bahan baku pembuatan roti. Identifikasi penanganan bahan dilakukan dengan cara membandingkan antara ketetapan CICMHE dengan kondisi yang terjadi di PT. Aerofood ACS Yogyakarta. CICMHE adalah dewan industri akademik yang mempromosikan peningkatan kesadaran material handling melalui berbagai kegiatan pendidikan dan penelitian. Terdapat 10 ketetapan penanganan bahan yang dijadikan sebagai acuan untuk identifikasi penanganan bahan di PT. Aerofood ACS Yogyakarta yang meliputi prinsip perencanaan, standardisasi, kerja, ergonomis, muatan unit, penggunaan ruang, sistem, otomasi, lingkungan dan perputaran biaya hidup. Hasil identifikasi penanganan bahan yang telah dilakukan oleh PT. Aerofood ACS Yogyakarta menunjukkan bahwa penerapan kerja dan ergonomi belum sepenuhnya dilakukan. Dampak buruk akan berakibat bagi kesehatan pekerja bagian dry good materials dan bagian produksi bakery karena posisi kerja yang tidak baik. Perlu dilakukan perbaikan seperti penempatan material yang tidak lebih rendah dari tinggi lutut, pemanasan pada permulaan setiap shift, menghindari gaya dorongan yang berlebihan, memastikan pandangan tak terhalangi dan penambahan program perawatan peralatan supaya tidak beresiko menimbulkan cidera pada pekerja.
PT. Aerofood ACS is the flight catering industry that provides food services for Garuda air passengers. The menu is consist of meals and snacks. There is a rule in the form of a menu in called cycle menus or menu turnover by 5 cycles starting on the first of every month and changed every 3 days. Identification of the material handling is done with the aim to determine the application material handling by decicions of The College Industry Council on Material Handling Education (CICMHE) and provide feedback to the PT. Aerofood ACS Yogyakarta. Material handling is a movement of materials activities such as lifting, lowering, pushing, pulling, loading and unloading. Movement activities should be attention that the goods are moved against damage and accidents. Material handling equipment selected based on the distance displacement and material characteristics. Material divided by category of high risks, medium risks and low risks. High risks products such as meat and fish have a different treatment with medium risks products such as vegetables and low risks products such as raw material for making bread. Identification of material handling is done by comparing the decisions of CICMHE with the real conditions in PT. Aerofood ACS Yogyakarta. CICMHE is an academic industry councils that promote awareness raising material handling through a variety of educational activities and experiments. There are 10 decisions of material handling used as a reference for the identification of material handling in PT. Aerofood ACS Yogyakarta which includes the principles of planning, standardization, work, ergonomics, unit load, space utilization, systems, automation, environment and life cycle costs. The results of the identification of materials handling that has been done by PT. Aerofood ACS Yogyakarta showed that the application of labor and ergonomics are not yet fully done. Adverse effects would be repercussions for the health of workers at dry good materials and bakery production because working position is not good. Needs to be improved such as the placement of material which is not lower than knee high, the heating at the beginning of each shift, to avoid excessive force impulse, ensuring unobstructed views and the addition of equipment maintenance program so as not to pose a risk of injury to workers.
