DIGITALISASI ARSIP KONVENSIONAL DI BADAN PERPUSTAKAAN DAN KEARSIPAN PROVINSI JAWA TIMUR

Laporan ini menjelaskan mengenai digitalisasi arsip yang dilaksanakan di Badan Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Provinsi Jawa Timur. Tujuan dari digitalisasi arsip konvensional yang ada di Provinsi Jawa Timur yaitu untuk melindungi informasi dan fisik arsip agar tidak cepat rusak karena kerapuhannya. Selain itu, digitalisasi arsip ini dilakukan agar memudahkan masyarakat dalam mengakses arsip sekalipun tidak menyentuh bentuk fisiknya. Laporan ini menggunakan tiga metode dalam penyusunannya. Pertama menggunakan mtode observasi-partisipatif, penulis ikut terjun langsung dalam pelaksanaan proses digitalisasi arsip. Kedua, menggunakan metode studi pustaka, penulis menggunakan literatur-literatur yang berkaitan dengan tema tugas akhir. Terakhir menggunakan metode wawancara, hal ini dilakukan agar informasi yang didapat semakin valid dan bisa menggambarkan bagaimana kondisi dilapangan saat melaksanakan proses digitalisasi arsip. Kesimpulan dari laporan ini adalah digitalisasi arsip ini penting untuk dilakukan, karena digitalisasi dapat melindungi fisik maupun informasi arsip. Disamping itu, akan lebih memudahkan dalam hal pelayanan arsip, terlebih lagi bagi lembaga sekelas Badan Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Provinsi Jawa Timur. Oleh karena itu, lembaga kearsipan ini butuh dukungan dari pemerintah untuk lebih mengoptimalkan perannya.

This report explained about archives digitizing in Agency of Library and Archives in East Java Province. Its purpose was to digitizing conventional archives in East Java to protect their information and physical state so they wouldn’t deteriorate by their fragility. This method can also help people to have easier access without having to touch the real archives. There are three methods that are used in this report, first method is observationparticipatory where writer directly do the process of archives digitizing itself. Second is literature study method, where literatures that related to this theme are being studied to support writing process of this report. Third is interview, where this method will validate all information that has been received and could describe how the situation was when the process of archives digitizing was being done. Conclusion of this report is archives digitizing is really important because it can protect their physical states and contents. Beside that, it will make service easier for Agency of Library and Archives of East Java Province. So it would better if this agency could get support from government to optimize its role.
