Cylinder block 3TNV 88C merupakan salah satu komponen utama pada mesin diesel yang digunakan pada traktor EF393T. Bahan dari komponen tersebut adalah besi cor. Untuk menghasilkan produk dengan bahan tersebut harus melalui proses pengecoran. Pada proses pengecoran cylinder block 3TNV 88C biasanya muncul terjadinya cacat yang dapat mengganggu proses kerja motor diesel. Oleh karena itu, disini akan dibahas mengenai analisa penyebab serta pencegahan cacat dari produk pengecoran cylinder block 3TNV 88C. Terdapat beberapa langkah dalam proses pengambilan data. Pertama untuk mencari jenis cacat yang sering terjadi pada produk casting dengan meminta data cacat pada bagian inspeksi, kemudian mengidentifikasi cacat yang paling sering terjadi. Kedua yaitu wawancara kepada ahli bidang quality assurance dan engineering mengenai faktor-faktor penyebab terjadinya cacat serta pencegahannya. Yang ketiga adalah mencari data proses pembuatan produk cylinder block 3TNV 88C untuk membandingkan dengan data hasil wawancara. Dari hasil analisa diketahui bahwa proses pembuatan cylinder block 3TNV 88C sangat kompleks mulai dari proses persiapan pasir cetak, inti, penuangan cairan logam sampai proses finishing. Ada 3 jenis cacat yang sering terjadi pada proses pembuatan cylinder block 3TNV 88C yaitu cacat karena inti retak, cacat rongga udara, dan cacat pasir rontok. Faktor-faktor penyebab terjadinya cacat¬¬-cacat tersebut adalah faktor mesin, material, metode dan faktor manusia.

ABSTRACT Cylinder block 3TNV 88C is a main components of diesel engines, it use in tractors EF393T. Material from these components is cast iron. The product made by casting process. In the process of casting the cylinder block 88C 3TNV usually appear defects that may interfere with the work process diesel engine. Therefore, it will discuss the analysis of the causes and disability prevention of cylinder block casting products 3TNV 88C. There are several steps in the data collection process. First for the types of defects that often occur in casting products with the requested data to the defect inspection section, and then identify the most common defects. The second is an interview to the quality assurance and engineering department of the defects and prevention factors. The third find data product process 3TNV cylinder block 88C to compare with interviews data. From the analysis, it is known that the process of cylinder block 88C 3TNV production very complex. The process of molding sand preparation, core, pouring the liquid metal to the finishing process. There are 3 types of defects that often occur in the the cylinder block 3TNV 88C process are core cracks, defects air cavities, and defects of sand loss. Factors cause of the defect are a factor of machines, materials, methods and human factors.
