PEMBUATAN ATLAS DARING SEJARAH BABAD TANAH JAWI BERBASIS METODE PENUTURAN CERITA (PERIODE KERAJAAN MATARAM ISLAM)

Literatur sejarah Indonesia merupakan salah satu sumber yang paling berperan untuk menelusuri dan mempelajari peradaban Indonesia. Salah satu literatur sejarah yang terkenal adalah Babad Tanah Jawi. Babad ini menceritakan peristiwa sejarah penting Kerajaan Mataram Islam di Pulau Jawa secara keseluruhan. Namun, alur cerita sejarah dalam Babad Tanah Jawi terbilang cukup kompleks untuk dipahami karena mempunyai aspek temporal (waktu) dan aspek spasial yang luas. Untuk itu, perlu dibuat visualisasi aspek spasio-temporal untuk membantu proses rekonstruksi sejarah sehingga pengguna dapat dengan mudah memahami kapan dan dimana peristiwa sejarah dalam Babad Tanah Jawi terjadi. Kegiatan aplikatif ini dilakukan untuk mengembangkan Atlas Babad Tanah Jawi (Handayaningsih, 2013) yang dibuat sebelumnya dalam bentuk cetak. Berbeda dengan versi sebelumnya, atlas ini dibuat pada media web dan bersifat interaktif. Konten utama pada atlas Babad Tanah Jawi adalah narasi peristiwa sejarah beserta data spasial yang saling terintegrasi. Peristiwa sejarah dalam atlas ditulis secara naratif dan terstruktur dengan menggunakan konsep penuturan cerita dan periodisasi waktu. Selain itu, atlas ini dilengkapi media tambahan seperti ilustrasi, gambar, dan video yang mendukung peristiwa sejarah. Peta latar yang digunakan dalam atlas dikustomisasi sesuai dengan tema dan diberi penambahan interaksi peta yang dibuat dengan menggunakan pustaka javascript. Kegiatan aplikatif ini menghasilkan atlas daring Babad Tanah Jawi berbasis penuturan cerita yang menceritakan sejarah periode Kerajaan Mataram Islam. Periodisasi waktu peristiwa sejarah terbagi dalam 3 periode yaitu, masa awal berdirinya kerajaan, masa puncak kejayaan, dan masa perpecahan kerajaan. Data spasial terkait peristiwa sejarah seperti titik lokasi peristiwa, cakupan wilayah, dan rute perjalanan divisualisasikan pada peta sebagai fitur spasial. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi dari pengguna, atlas daring ini mempermudah pengguna dalam memahami lokasi sejarah berdasarkan peristiwa sejarahnya.

Indonesia�s history literature is one of the fundamental source for exploring and understanding the civilization of Indonesian. One of the well-known historical literatures is Babad Tanah Jawi. Babad Tanah Jawi tells a historical story of important events took place during Islamic Mataram Kingdom in Java Island as a whole. However, the story plot in Babad Tanah Jawi is quite complex because of its comprehensive temporal aspect (time) and spatial aspect. Therefore, visualization of spatio-temporal aspects needs to be done in order to reconstruct the history so that people can easily understand the the timeline and the location of each event in the history of Babad Tanah Jawi. This applicative project is conducted to develop Babad Tanah Jawi atlas (Handayaningsih, 2013) that was made earlier in hardcopy version. Unlike the previous version, this atlas was developed as an online and interactive web map application. The main content of this interactive Babad Tanah Jawi atlas is explanation of historical events integrated with spatial data. The historical events are written in a narrative and structured way using the concept of storytelling and the periodization of time. In addition, the atlas is also equipped with additional media such as illustrations, pictures, and videos to support the history explanation. The base map used in the atlas is customized according to the theme and supplemented with interactive map that is created using javascript library. The result of this project is a storytelling-based online atlas of Babad Tanah Jawi that tells the history of Islamic Mataram Kingdom. The periodization time of historical event are divided into three periods, starting from the establishment of kingdom, the glory time, until the collapse. The spatial data includes the location of the historical events, the coverage area, and the journey routes. These data are visualized on the map as spatial features. Based on users evaluation, this online atlas facilitates users in understanding the history location of based on the historical events happened in the past Islamic Mataram Kingdom.
