PROSES PEMBENTUKAN IDENTITAS DIRI PADA MAHASISWA YANG ORANGTUANYA BERCERAI SAAT REMAJA

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana proses pembentukan identitas diri pada mahasiswa yang orangtuanya bercerai saat remaja. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan mewawancara lima responden. Tiga orang responden sebagai subjek dan dua orang sebagai significant others. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan naratif yang mempelajari individu dari historis dan kronologisnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa masing-masing individu telah mencapai identitas diri yang dilalui dengan tahap eksplorasi dan komitmen. Terdapat dua faktor yang memiliki andil besar dalam proses pembentukan identitas diri yaitu keluarga dan lingkungan sosial. Faktor internal berupa motivasi pembuktian diri juga memiliki andil dalam proses pembentukan identitas diri. Temuan khusus pada penelitian ini adalah adanya keikhlasan lahir dan batin yang menyebabkan individu dapat menerima perceraian orangtua secara positif yang berperan sangat besar dalam proses pembentukan identitas diri.

The purpose of this research is to find out how the process the formation of self-identity on college students whose their parents divorced when teens. Data retrieval is done by interviewing five of the respondents. Three of the respondents as a subject and the others as significant others. The method used was qualitative with the narrative approach that examines the individual from their historical and chronological. The results ofthe research is showed that each individual has achieved the identity that is passed with the stage of exploration and commitment. There are two factors that have a major role in the process of identity formation that is family and social environment. The internal factors in the form of proof of self motivation also have a contribution in the process of self identity formation. The specific results on this research is the existence of “keikhlasan” their body and soul and which causes the individual can accepted of their parents divorce positively that have very large role in the process of theirself identity formation.
