SELF-IDENTITY DALAM KOMIK LA PAGE BLANCHE KARYA BOULET DAN PENELOPE BAGIEU SEBUAH TINJAUAN SEMIOTIKA

Identitas diri adalah hal terpenting di dalam kehidupan. Untuk membedakan setiap individu, manusia memiliki identitas. Pencarian identitas dapat diperoleh melalui kebiasaan yang sering dilakukan atau dalam perjalanan hidup manusia. Seperti pada komik La Page Blanche yang dibuat oleh Bagieu dan Boulet adalah salah satu contoh bagaimana manusia dapat memperoleh identitas dirinya. Sebuah komik yang diterbitkan pada tahun 2012 menjadi objek material dalam penelitian ini. Komik ini menceritakan sebuah kehidupan seorang wanita. Bagaimana wanita tersebut mencari identitas dirinya setelah hilangnya ingatan yang ia punya. Dalam komik ini, digambarkan apa yang Eloise, si karakter utama, lakukan demi mengingat identitas sebelumnya. Salah satu proses pencarian identitas ini ia dapatkan melalui lingkungan disekitarnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori self-identity. Self-identity pada penelitian ini dibagi menjadi dua : the process of making dan identitas sebagai self-project. Analisis diawali dengan pembagian katagori yang dibutuhkan sesuai dengan teori identitas. Kemudian dilakukan penafsiran dengan menggunakan bantuan metode semiotika. Pada akhirnya, penelitian ini menghasilkan identitas yang baru untuk Eloise.

Self identity is very important for every human. How to make it different, human should have an identity for himself. Human gets his identity by doing habit that is often done or by passing life. Like in the comic La Page Blanche published in 2012 by Bagieu-Boulet, it is one of an example how people get his identity. The La Page Blanche is the material object of this thesis. This comic tells a woman's life. How the woman looking for her identity after he had memory loss. This comic described what Eloise, the main character, do for the sake of remembering her previous identity. She is trying to find her process of identity through the society. Therefore, this research uses theory of self-identity. In this research, self-identity is divided into two: the process of making and identity as a self-project. The analysis begins with the division of the categories needed in the theory of identity. Then do the interpretation with semiotics method. The result of this research is a new identity for Eloise.
