Transformator eksitasi merupakan peralatan yang berguna untuk menyuplai tegangan eksitasi pada sisi stator generator. Sebagai peralatan yang bekerja dalam tegangan tinggi, peralatan ini tak luput dari beberapa gangguan baik dari internal maupun eksternal. Gangguan internal berupa seperti kerusakan isolasi, arus hubung singkat, ataupun overload. Gangguan eksternal berupa gangguan dari luar seperti temperatur ruang tinggi, kerusakan pada kabel. Akibat gangguan tersebut akan mempengaruhi kenaikan temperatur pada sisi winding. Untuk itu diperlukan peralatan indikator temperatur untuk mendeteksi temperatur kerja trafo tersebut. Termometer merupakan peralatan yang digunakan untuk memberikan informasi mengenai temperatur tersebut. Termometer berbasis RTD dipilih karena memiliki akurasi, sensitivitas, dan ketelitian dibanding dengan jenis lainnya seperti termokopel dan termistor. Selain itu sensor RTD lebih stabil dan tidak terpengaruh pada kisaran suhu yang luas. Diharapkan dengan adanya termometer berbasis RTD ini, dapat mengetahui secara berkala temperatur kerja trafo terlebih jika mengalami gangguan akan mendapat penanganan lebih cepat.

Excitation transformer is a useful tool to supply the excitation voltage on the generator stator. As a tool working in high voltage, the device is not spared of some interference from both internal and external. Internal disorders such as insulation breakdown, short circuit, or overload. External interference in the form of interference from outside such as high ambient temperaturs, damage to the cable. As a result of the interference will affect the temperatur rise in the winding. It required temperature indicator equipment to detect the operating temperature of the transformer. The thermometer is the equipment used to provide information about the temperature. Thermometer based RTD selected for accuracy, sensitivity, and accuracy compared with other types like thermocouple and thermistor. In addition RTD sensor is more stable and is not affected in a broad temperatur range. Hopefully, by the thermometer based RTD, that can know the working temperature of the transformer periodically especially if it impaired would get treatment faster.
